Hung Up is on the station's year-end countdown? The most it was ever played in a week was 16 times (corrected in the Ask Billboard column), and it never appeared in its top 30!

First thing I did was check where HU would be...I thought 102...so it did better. I would love if someone from KIIS read Billboard and all of a sudden it goes top 20 in rotation.

KIIS is NOTORIOUS for making year end top 102 lists that don't match up with their actual airplay... How is Kelly's "Walk Away" on there when they haven't even given it 100 TOTAL spins yet???
Also, don't be surprised if Nickelback and Rob Thomas somehow end up on there... despite their lack of airplay there...

Lonely No More was played all the time on KIIS. I heard it exactly once when it was out on KIIS and that's when Rob Thomas was in studio in the morning with Ryan... perhaps they played it early in the year when I was boycotting the station.... They've played 59 songs so far and exactly 8 made my personal Top 100 for the year...

I knew Mariah was going to be #1... I had absolutely no doubts there...
Only 2 times during the countdown (songs 25-26 and 67-68) did I hear back to back songs I liked....
And as also predicted, no Nickelback and no Rob Thomas... pathetic job, KIIS... very pathetic!!!

How many times has KIIS played Hung Up to date? Not sure how to access that info (if you need an ID or what). Thanks. :)

It wasn't even that high. The peak was 16 spins in a week (per BDS)- and it never appeared in KIIS's top 30 playlist (per Mediabase).

How did you get the exact figure??? I figured it was less than 150 spins, so I got that right. :) Sorry I was off on my other numbers... I usually look KIIS up off R&R rather than Mediabase as it gives a larger list (though it's also a week behind usually)...

Well at least this countdown made LOTS more sense than his incomprehensible 1995 survey, where 'Kiss From A Rose' wound up #1 for the year despite only six weeks at #1, as compared to NINE weeks at the top for Dionne Farris's 'I Know', which came in FIFTH!!!!
Since this 2005 list closely resembled BB's & R&Rs year-end surveys (with a moderate amount of differences), were his countdowns of the biggest hits of 1996-1999 as bizarre as those 1995 results above?

Marv, I'm confused... who are you referring to as "his"??? This is a station countdown and not a national or syndicated one...

Sorry about that John--I guess I blew it again!!!
My remraks were aimed at his NATIONAL countdowns--soryy about that!!!!
Did KIIS ever give either 'You'll Think Of Me' or 'Live Like You Were Dying' ANY spins whatsoever??????
That countdown definitely has little appeal for anybody over the age of 25, and that's being generous!!!!!

That countdown definitely has little appeal for anybody over the age of 25, and that's being generous!!!!! No problem... I don't think KIIS ever played either song except YTM made it to CHR Top 40 for a few weeks, so Ryan spun it on the syndicated Countdown, so it got a few weekend spins there... Star 98.7 only recently added YTM... I don't think they ever played LLYWD, but I went thru a stage where I didn't listen to Star much at all earlier in '05 when they would have been playing it... Yes... it's an awful list, isn't it? ... only 1 of every 6 songs on that list made it on my year end Top 100... So, what did happen to those 18-34 year old women that used to be their target demo??? I do wonder!
