Three consecutive weeks without a "regular" show. Rick must be on an extended holiday vacation.

Another pointless Rick Dees chart that makes absolutely no sense. You'd think he would at least start #40 with the shortest stay at #1 and have the longest #1 at #1.

Wait a second...when were Candy Shop, (which was #1 on this chart, who knows why) Obsession, Beautiful Soul, Caught Up, Karma and Underneath It All #1's? Seriously, what the hell is this crap?

I know "Candy Shop" was #1 on his chart, and wasn't "Underneath It All" #1 on R&R?, which was what he originally went by up until the end of 2002. I believe his chart was actually a copy of R&R, until he didn't give "Complicated" its 8th week at #1, that's when I stopped following his charts because I knew they no longer went off of anything. I don't know why he stopped following the charts and came up with his own garbage, who wants to listen to a countdown if there is absolutely no format to it. I understand that a lot of listeners probably don't care much about the countdown just the songs, but it still seems really fake, especially giving the people the idea that "Candy Shop" has been the biggest hit since 2002, if you looked at an R&R chart with the biggest songs of the past 4 years I doubt you would find "Candy Shop" in the top 40.

On the real R&R chart, "Since U Been Gone" was #1 for like 8 weeks or something. Instead of having that song up there for all that time, Dees decided to have most of those songs (Obsession, Beautiful Soul, Caught Up, Karma, Candy Shop) go to #1 during that period, so SUBG got like 2 #1 weeks on his chart. Then again, "Behind These Hazel Eyes" was a #1 on his chart I believe even though it never was on R&R.

I listened to some of this show online last night, and it was not presented as a countdown. He just played all of the #1 songs from 2002-2005, dedicating each hour of the show to a specific year.

I believe something similar happened in the summer of 2002 when Rick had 3 weeks of specials in a row. Or maybe it was just two.

Why the hell does this random ass person get to have his own countdown when it's totally pointless and has no credibility what so ever? No one even knows who this guy is, he's not even famous for Christ's sake.

Rick must indeed be on an extended vacation, since this was the same #1 hits special that was run on the weekend of July 2-3, 2005. At first, I thought that it was a modified version of it, only with numbers attached to it, but Michael1973's post made me come to the conclusion that it was the same special, especially since there are no songs that were number one on Rick Dees past July 3 (well, except for "We Belong Together", but as you can see on the link I posted below, that song was played on the special this past summer.) Did he play the mash-up of "Get This Party Started/Don't Bring Me Down" at the beginning of the show? That was the song that kicked off the show from July. Anyway, here's the link: pulsemusic.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=pop&action=display&thread=1120232267

Yeah, you'd think that he could at least update the show a little!

Heh, so a grand total of 22 monitored pop stations carry Dees show. And when he puts out product like this, it's a wonder the number is that high.

Considering that he's heard in 125 countries, you'd think he'd have affiliates more in the U.S. He lost them all once his show stopped being distributed by Premiere, which is owned by Clear channel, so they pulled him off all the CC stations. I think that was at the beginning of either 05 or 04. Maybe he said "f**k it" after that and just decided to do whatever the hell he wanted with the chart? Although that sucks for those who still listen.

Maybe he said "f**k it" after that and just decided to do whatever the hell he wanted with the chart? More likely, he probably wasn't allowed to used the Mediabase chart after the seperation. Clear Channel, Premiere, and Mediabase all fall under the same corporate umbrella.
