Going for pop adds January 31st. Love the song, but I don't think it's going to do all that well on pop. I've been wrong before though.

Agree, the metal influence will turn many people off. But I'm surprised its going for adds on Pop.

Well, at the least, it would probably make a decent counterbalance to the Three 6 Mafia.
I still haven't heard this song. Windows Media has the video in their relatively brief catalog, so maybe I'll check it out there later.

I think Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country" should be sent to pop as well, its catchier.

Yeah, I'd have picked "Bat Country" to cross over before this, too.
The song I most compare "Wasteland" to is "So Cold" by Breaking Benjamin (musically, anyway; chart-performance wise, probably "Meant to Live"). That one didn't do much at all at Pop (either that, or it was pulled before officially going for adds). This one is a little less heavy on the rock side, though, so who knows. We might see it in the top 20 by July or so.

It's a decent song but I would be surprised if it did anything on pop. It's doing well on alternative though, currently #5 with a good shot at the top spot.

Didn't this song come out like, last spring? I'm surprised it's going for adds.

Yeah , pretty surprising to see this going for adds . I haven't heard the album yet but maybe this is their only chance at getting a pop crossover hit.

Seasons to Cycles from 10 Years, if promoted well, actually has more potential than Wasteland does. I just don't see Seasons to Cycles doing anything on Alternative.
Although, based on all of the shows that they've been doing it looks like they're going to be following up with Through the Iris.

"Seasons to Cycles" would only work well if "Wasteland" hit the top 5 or something. Pop wouldn't play a song like that without a proven track record of success at the format. It's like "My Immortal"... that wouldn't have been a hit if "BMTL" didn't do as well as it did.
I'm hoping for either "Through the Iris" or "Half Life" as the Alternative follow-up.

I'm hoping for either "Through the Iris" or "Half Life" as the Alternative follow-up. Well, seven spins out of the box in WKRZ in Wilkes-Barre. Unfortunately for 10 Years, that's the only pop station that's playing it right now. And based on what I've been looking at other 10 Years songs and it looks like it's going to be between Through Your Iris and Waking Up. It's likely Through Your Iris because of how its getting played on Alt. stations.

If this goes for adds then Shinedown's "Save Me" should too.

I love this song. And when I was at the gym, my I-pod was playing this song, but right after it finished I heard a similar beat outside the realm of my headphones. I was like, it can't be, but then listened more closely, and it was the same song playing right after my I-pod played it.

It's actually picked up quite nicely recently. Granted, it likely won't be a serious top 40 contender, but it's done better than I expected.
