Ashlee's pregnancy: did it hurt or help?

HOW IT COULD HAVE HELPED:
With rumors of her pregnancy constantly being in the tabloids for weeks surrounding the time Bittersweet World was released, it is arguably the most press she received for the entire project. The 'People Magazine' cover for her & Pete's wedding/discussing the baby certainly helped as well.
HOW IT COULD HAVE HURT:
Her House of Blues tour was canceled because of the pregnancy, and subsequent promotional appearances/performances (including Good Morning America) were canceled because of it as well. Also, her label may not have been willing to fund a video for "Little Miss Obsessive" or release an more videos/singles because of it as well. (even though underperformance is the more likely answer to this)
So what do you think?
I think it probably hurt more than it helped, honestly. As seen in the past, tabloid attention doesn't = record sales. (Blackout or A Little More Personal, anyone?) If she would've been able to do the tour and Good Morning America concert series, sales may be a little higher than they are now.
