Her breakout hit, and IMO still one of the best things she's ever done. She's such an underrated songwriter. Truly one of the greatest talents of her generation.
I love the final call of 'Jolene' at the end. Sounds quite eerie.

Yeah, this is one of my all-time favorite country tunes. Love it! The White Stripes' cover is also excellent.

She's not underrated IMO. Everyone in country music regards her as one of the greats. This song is awesome and has been covered ad nauseum.

When I was a teenager, I picked up a 12 inch single of Dolly Parton, with a disco mix of her song "Baby I'm Burning" on pink vinyl. Prolly worth some money now. Wow did it sound stupid, a 1 minute or so disco break with handclaps and at the time current sound fx and then it went into the original version with the handclaps intact, then back to the disco break for another 30 seconds. Ahhhhh memories... (and in Dolly's case, mammories...)

This is an incredible song, when country music was actually good. I wouldn't say that Dolly is underrated, she is regarded as one of the greats in the country industry, and critics are definately on her side, but I would say that she's under-estimated as a song-writer and singer by the general public. That's mainly due to her gaudy image.
Personally, that's why I've always loved her, she's made some classic music, and she's still putting out great material, but she's never taken herself too seriously.

Another stellar Dolly classic. This may be my favorite from her aside from "Islands in the Stream."
