Reminds me of a girl I knew in the 7th grade named Mona. She liked this song a lot. :)

Great song from 1984.
Patty Smyth never got the recognition she deserved.
Some people still think this was a Pat Benatar song. :(

Some people still think this was a Pat Benatar song. :( LOL, I guessed it was the Motels. When I heard the song on "Countdown America with John Leader" the week it debuted, for some reason, I missed both the intro and the outro, so I just pencilled in "The Motels". I found out later in the week that it was Scandal featuring Patty Smyth. Since I'd only heard one song by Scandal before ("Love's Got A Line On You" from the summer of 1983), I would have never guessed. But the Motels was the only thing I could think of, although Patty Smyth didn't have the same whiny voice that Martha Davis did.

I had a very nice experience at a Scandal reunion concert last winter. After enjoying the show from the front row[/i], I met Patty Smyth, Zack Smith and the rest of the band. There is a picture of Patty Smyth from the show and some other info on a webpage I made for her. www.keystonehighways.com/pattysmyth.html:)

Cool!
I would love Patty to record again either solo or with a reunited Scandal. They seemed so happy on the VH1 show.

Love this song! So catchy! Holly Knight, who wrote this, wrote a lot of great pop/rock songs in the 80's.

I love how allmusic.com deems the lyrics to this song "80s pop genius"

The Warrioir went #7 in 1984 and was the group only top 40 hit despite the fact that both of the group's followups from "The Warrior" album peaked at #41

The Warrioir went #7 in 1984 and was the group only top 40 hit despite the fact that both of the group's followups from "The Warrior" album peaked at #41 Those two songs did make the R&R chart, though. "Hands Tied" peaked at #38 and "Beat Of A Heart" got as high as #37.

Not nearly as good as "Goodbye to You" in my opinion, but a fine song.

LOVE this! Reached the top of my personal chart. Back home their biggest hit is Goodbye to You, which is also my favorite -especially due to memories- but this is a close second
