I'm by no means a fan of the Backstreet Boys, but I do think that "Larger than Life" is a pretty cool pop song. It's really lively, well-crafted and energetic. Actually, I think I like this song because it's so different from the usual sappy adult contemporary formula that they used to follow... It's a pretty atypical single for them. Jam! It also has a cool US$2 million video. US Hot 100: #25 Hot 100 Airplay: #20 UK: #5

Excuse my French, but I think this song fuckin' sucks! Of all of their "Look at us, we're awesome!" songs, this one is definitely the worst. I didn't like it when it came out and I especially didn't like it when it was all I heard in late 1999. Honestly, I'd rather listen to "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" than this, and, considering how much I hate THAT song, that's saying a lot.

I really liked this song! It had some fun lyrics and the production was quite good. It really sounded a lot like Britney's "You Drive Me (Crazy)". But it worked. Mashup anyone?
I really liked the video. My friends and I would totally rock out to this one at the school dances.

Not their best, but it was OK.

This was awful.
The best Backstreet songs:
1. Everybody 2. Show Me The Meaning (Of Being Lonely) - only because the Bee Gees could have sung it 3. I Want It That Way
Not that I'd listen to any of them willingly, but the first one was a somewhat daring choice for a single & video in the burgeoning age of Orlando Pop.

This was played on AT40 as a Double Play in 2005 when "Incomplete" was on the chart.

Tough Song! I absolutely love it, because it makes me wanna ghett down! Owwww! Seriously, though, the single version sounds much more lively than the US LP version. I liked the song so much before I knew about downloading, I bought this "import" single for close to $10 at Sam Goody's.

This was played on AT40 as a Double Play in 2005 when "Incomplete" was on the chart. Of all their songs, they had to pick the worst! What's wrong with playing "I'll Never Break Your Heart" or "Shape Of My Heart" or "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" (wow, they sure had a lot of "Heart" songs, didn't they? Rod Stewart, anyone?)

I like this song a lot. The best I've heard from them, though I admit I have only heard their singles.

I think this is the song they sang in "This Is The End."

I think this is the song they sang in "This Is The End." That was "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," which is pretty similar to this one, but a superior song, IMO.

I enjoy this. It's really close to being my favorite song from them, with my favorite being "I Want It That Way".

Am I the only one who hears Daft Punk's Da Funk in this? Whatever is this thing going "bwah bwah bwah bwah" in the background makes me think of Da Funk whenever I hear this song.

I can hear the "Da Funk" influence, yeah. But unlike that classic I do not like this one. One of my least favorites from them.

Didn't like it back then as was the case with most teen pop songs of the late 90s/early 2000s. This, like their other songs, was played alot on B96 whenever I tuned to the radio back then. Don't hate it as much as I used to and can tolerate most Backstreet Boys songs these days (except for "I Want It That Way", which I still hate).

Brings back a lot of memories to that era, especially middle school. I remember in 6th grade, there was this girl who showed off her BSB and Britney folders. Another girl sitting by me, who was more of an NSync and Christina fan, just looked at her and said they sucked. 🤣🤣🤣 I will never forget those rivalries in the teen pop world.
