This is the original and by the best IMO, yet it has been remade 3 or 4 times. I remember her performing this on Kids Incorporated in 1984 as she made her cameo appearance. In addition to that the video clip recieved a large amount of video airplay on BET. She is the woman behind Michael Jackson's 1987 ballad "I Just Can't Stop Loving You". In other notes she was back up and/ or session singer for Quincy Jones,

Love Siedah Garret. One of those almost forgotten GEMS. She managed to get on hits with Billy Preston ("With You I'm Born Again") CLASSIC, Stevie Wonder(whom she was briefly married to), and Dennis Edwards (Don't Look Any Further").

I only heard this version (the original) a few years ago for the first time. I liked it.
I loved Taylor Dayne's version on her debut album in 1988.
I wish Arista had released it as a single.

I love Taylor Dayne, but ya I like Siedah's version more. Also enjoy Armand Van Helden's umm sampling/using/whatever you would like to call it as well with "I Want Your Soul"

This was my favorite song from her (excluding duets with Dennis Edwards and Michael Jackson). There was also a 1992 dance cover version by Degrees of Motion that I also liked (I also preferred that version to the Siedah original).

I like both versions. Taylor's feels much more happier and bright. Siedah's song deserved to be a hit! I wonder why it didn't blow up.

I like this, but prefer Taylor Dayne’s version. I must have heard this a few times back in the day. Because I always felt like I knew Taylors version when I bought the “Tell It To My Heart” album.
