This single was featured on her "I'm Your Baby Tonight" album and is one of my personal favorites by Whitney, despite it being one of her most overlooked singles. She, as usual gave a rousing vocal performance and the lyrics were poignant. What do you all think of this one.

Not a bad song but it certainly isn't my favorite from her. In fact I like the first two singles from IYBT better.

This song only got to #12 on R&R and I was disappointed, because, for one, it was a good song and, second, it was her first song ever to miss the Top Ten, and it came so close. At least her next hit "My Name Is Not Susan" did worse, peaking at 23, so her streak would have ended anyway. I'd rather this song would have topped the chart and "I'm Your Baby Tonight" only climbed to 12. At least this song did well at AC.

What were all the singles from the IYBT album?
My personal fave from that album is "Lover For Life"

One of my favorite Whitney songs, though not nearly as good as "All The Man That I Need."

I was surprised to hear that it's about an abortion. Very good song.

Great song and I love the lyrics. When I was little I was fascinated by this song too because I sorta got that it was about a baby but not really. Maybe it speaks to children or something, LOL.
One of Whitney's best vocal performances as well.

one of my favorite Whitney songs . it was a top 10 song for her on the Hot 100 written by L.A. Reid and Babyface probably the best songwriting team of the 90's.

This song was a daring choice, and it's gorgeous. I kind of like the fact that it came and went quickly because I appreciate it a lot more now when I do hear it. The album version was quite long. Was there a radio edit for this?

This is a really beautiful song. It's highly underrated. This song was a daring choice, and it's gorgeous. I kind of like the fact that it came and went quickly because I appreciate it a lot more now when I do hear it. The album version was quite long. Was there a radio edit for this? Yes there is a radio edit, but it's it just 44 seconds shorter. The 4:59 edit was only commercially released in Japan. It also appeared on a CD promo in the U.S. A 7" vinyl single was released in the U.S., but they put the album version on there.

I enjoy her popular singles, but I REALLY cherish her lesser known hits and album tracks, like this one. :)

At the time it was released, it was one favorite singles from that album. I was a kid at the time, so I really didn't pick up on the subject matter. I was all about those vocals! I love that album.

I'm not sure if she changed her story over the years, but at one point at least, Whitney denied that this was specifically about abortion (possibly just to minimize controversy and maximize sales.) granted, she didn't actually write the song herself, and the lyrics do seem pretty clear. I'm a little torn on this song...I do like it, there's something quite catchy about the chorus ( "for nothing should matter, not when love grows inside you"")...but I disagree with the implication that abortion is always a selfish choice and you should feel ashamed for "throwing away a miracle". any rate, don't wanna turn this thread into something political. I certainly agree that "Miracle" is an often-overlooked piece of her discography. it hasn't been included on any of her compilations, has it?

It's grown on me so much in recent years. It was always just "there" for me but I really enjoy it now.

It has a dreamy quality to it. Liked it a lot when it was out, but I haven't really listened to it in some time.

Heard this song a couple of times recently. It's been very nice getting re-acquainted with it.

I do remember hearing this song once when I was just a toddler. I wonder why dad never played it that much, but I find it very underrated in comparison to her other hits. Always thought it sounds very similar to Babyface's Where Will You Go. Lol. An absolutely gorgeous song!

She was on such a roll for me with this - after IYBT and ATMTIN and then MYINS followed (haha at acronyms, sorry) - I love the album. There's something about this song I've always really liked.
