I like this song alot more than most of his other stuff. I can't pinpoint my attraction to it.

It was good, but not his best.

It's an OK song. Not as overplayed as other Stevie songs. The follow-up, "Go Home", was much better.

I don't think I liked "Go Home" that much, but from around this era Stevie Wonder, the track I really dug was "Love Light In Flight." I always found it funny that a white, suburban mom could like this song about infidelity, but have problems with rap and their hardcore lyrics. Sweet melodies mean sweet forgiveness obviously.

Okay song, but it doesn't even come close to his older stuff.

I did not really care for the song however i did care for his follow-up "Go Home". For some reason Soul Train just knew that it was going to be his very next single. You see they played it more than once way before radio caught on to it while "Part Time Lover" was still being heavily promoted. One other thing, I was hoping Aretha Franklin's "Freeway Of Love" would been the number one song of 1985 on the R&R Urban chart, but not only was it this one but Aretha only placed number five.

I liked the third song from "In Square Circle" (the album from which "Part Time Lover" and "Go Home" came from), "Overjoyed". That song did well at A/C radio, but petered out at 27 on the R&R CHR chart.

I think this was written by Luther Vandross and Marcus Miller. I really don't like it. His 70's material is so much better. The only 80's song of his I like is "Overjoyed".

I loved when Nikko Smith slayed this on Idol, but not when that Chicken Little kid ruined it.

^ Me too.
Of his entire 80's output (as far as singles go) this is my favorite. Luther wrote so many jams in the 80s.

My friend has been putting this on her car mixes lately. This song still sounds fresh and never really sounded old to me. However I grew up in the 80's. lol Love it!!

I like it- it's Stevie Wonder, after all- but I would never put it near the top of a Classic Stevie list.

From Stevie's 1985 album In Square Circle. A big, record setting #1 hit on Billboard (Hot 100, R&B, AC, Dance). Also, went top 5 pretty much all over the world, becoming one of the biggest international hits of Stevie's legendary career. It features vocals from Luther Vandross, Syreeta Wright and Philip Bailey. I love it. In my top 5 Stevie Wonder songs actually. Besides the fact it's a complete earworm, I love how high Stevie goes with the vocals, and as a composition I admire it because it's very of its time and yet it retains Stevie's essence if that makes sense to anyone else. I also love the song thematically.

It doesn't have a patch on most of his 70's hits, but it's one of his best after that. Luther and Marcus Miller made magic together.

Probably my favorite post-1982 Stevie Wonder hit. Used to hear this one as an 80s flashback on the AC stations (100.3 FM and 93.9 Lite FM) in my market.
