Who else likes this one?
It had a great bass line and a killer sax solo. It has a different sound from most of their stuff, but it worked.

Foreigner are possibly the most horrible band ever. They were like Nickelback on an even greater earnestness overdose.

It's alright for an early 80s classic. I kinda liked Hot Blooded and That Was Yesterday another forgotten classic from 1984.

My favorite song by them! "Say You Will", "Double Vision" and "Hot Blooded" are close behind.

Foreigner was a band I really loved in my teen years, and IMHO they got unfairly lumped with crap bands like Asia, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, etc. None of those bands followed two 5 million selling albums with a lead track called "Dirty White Boy" and none of them had the musical vision to come up with this OMG WOW! awesome track! The Head Games album that "Dirty..." came from, was a relative flop, I think stopping at 3x platinum eventually, and it was imperative that lead single from 4 didn't follow that path. It sure didn't, and became the one song that critics gave the band major props for. They followed it up with mega smash "Waiting For A Girl Like You" which would have been a great song if the artist was named Styz or Journey.
Thomas Dolby, a fine keyboardist in early 80s (big hit was new wave track "She Blinded Me With Science) did most of the synth work on this fine album, and it was legendary saxist Junior Walker that added the scorching sax solo in this song. On a scale of 1-10, a definite 11.

Shannon remade the song in 1985, eventhough I can barely remember it besides remembering her performance on Soul Train.

It's OK. I have their greatest hits cd. My favorite from them is "I Wanna Know What Love Is." It was popular when I went through puberty.

And Cherie sampled the guitar riff in a song recently. I forget the title though.

I loved Foreigner. This song is great.
My favorites are either "Head Games", which is so relevant to many situations or "I Want To Know What Love Is", which is great in so many ways.

I loved Foreigner.Β This song is great. My favorites are either "Head Games", which is so relevant to many situations or "I Want To Know What Love Is", which is great in so many ways.Β The HG album as a whole is pretty underated IMHO, maybe because of the drawing of the girl in the urinal for the album artwork, but there are actually a substantial number of good rockers on there, specifically "Dirty White Boy" which was prolly not an ideal first single release coming off back to back 5 million selling albums, and "Women" and "Modern Day." "Modern Day" and 'Rev On The Red Line" would have been great single choices, but Atlantic gave up on this album after only selling 3 million or so.

I like it, but not as much as I did in the past. I didn't realize, though, that Junior Walker performed the sax solo.

Great song, Wf*gLY is great too. Gotta love that censorship. Foreigner have only a few songs that I really like, this being one of them. The other two are "Head Games" (which might be my favorite) and "Feels Like the First Time". "Juke Box Hero" is pretty good too, but I don't hear it very often.

Foreigner's downright awesome with Urgent being killer but Waiting For A Girl Like You is the gem of Foreigner 4 hands down. For the record, the whole album's nothing short of a timeless masterpiece.

In general, I can't stand them and think they're worse than their AOR contemporaries. But I sort of like this one, as its catchy and not in such a bad way.
Lou Gramm's vocals, though...
