"Dopin' fresh" hi-tech 1984 synthesized-tacular sound effects meets supremely cheesy lyrical genius on paranoia. It's so bad it's great. Rockwell was Berry Gordy's son, but apparently he hid his identity from dad for this Motown release. With Michael Jackson's voice on the record, it was bound to have success. Interestingly, if it came out today I think it'd def. be credited like "Rockwell feat. Michael Jackson" but I guess things weren't done like that years ago. Hot RnB Singles/Tracks: 1 The Billboard Hot 100: 2 Hot Dance Music/Club Play: 3 Z100 Top 100 of 1984: 21 "I wonder who's watching me now? WHO?!?! THE IRS?!?!" Check out the AWESOME video (esp. for 1984!): youtube.com/watch?v=kteh2LGtaF4

Good song. I remember his other songs such as "Peeping Tom" & "Obscene Phone Caller". At least BET back in 1985 gave him some love before he finally called it quits.

I like the dance version of this by the Royal Gigolos, which is the b-side to "Self Control." Z103.5 plays it very frequently here.

I heard it this morning. I guess it ties in with "Friday the 13th."

Jack FM has been playing this a lot lately. An 80s classic.

I like it but I don't understand the British accent when he says he's afraid to wash his hair

I'd always wondered why Michael didn't get label credit as a featured artist.

Love this song. There's just something really great about it. That's probably Michael's chrous you're referring to. I always loved this song as a kid, especially the chorus. It really should have came to no surprise to me to find out it was Michael Jackson singing it. One of the best pop voices ever.

Great song. Itโs interesting that this was in the Top 5 at the same time as โThriller.โ Such a bop.

I always thought of this as a Halloween song. But it's a classic actually, but I never knew it featured MJ.

That hook has to be one of the most personally iconic song sections in my life. I would start singing it at seemingly random times throughout my childhood, much to the annoyance of my parents. It's such so catchy.

I don't listen to this as much as before, but it's a great bop to tune into.

This song is a guilty pleasure due to Rockwell's faux-British accent as he sings as well as the music video. Without Michael Jackson's background vocals, this song would had never charted as well as it did. When I was younger, I thought it was a Michael Jackson song with Rockwell as the featuring artist instead.

Mariah Carey mentions this song in her new memoir as well.
