I just listened to this about an hour ago. I forgot what a great job they did with this song. It's soooooo much better than the album version, Club 69 remix, or Rodney Jerkins remix.

This remix is a classic. I'm surprised it didn't do better at CHR/Pop. I would have thought it was the biggest hit off the album back when it was out.
...and I think it's okay to ask this because it's a remix.. Does anyone have the Club 69 remix?

This was one of the best Thunderpuss remixes. And I liked how it got more play in my market than the original mix.
And the remix was quite good. It was a bit too circuit-sounding, but I liked it anyway. And I liked how the vocals hadn't been manipulated.
I remember Whitney performed this song in its remixed form at some of her live shows.
This is a classic.

Thanks Tony. I've heard this one on KTU. I agree that it's good, but not as good as the Thunderpuss mix.

The Thunderpuss Mix is much much better than the original version. Anytime I hear the song in obscure places its the remix.

I love the original version and the thunderpuss remix. I agree that it felt like the biggest hit off of the album back then. Even now, it's the one that people remember from Whitney's MLIYL era. My fave from the album.

Thanks for posting that mix, TCorey. I have been wanting to hear this mix ever since I had heard about its existence. I like this one, but the Thunderpuss one is better.

Same here, sort of! I heard it on the dance station in SF 2 days ago and I was like, "This was such a HOT JAM!" As soon as I got home, I put it on my mp3 player. I've listened to it a few times since. I, too, had forgotten how good it was. HOT HOT JAM!

I bought her greatest hits because of all the remixes from her cd.

A brilliant release at the time, it has definitely been overplayed.. even now I get a little sick of it... I was thrilled by all of the maxi single releases. It was great to have so many versions of her songs...
Now you'd have to pass an Act of Congress to get a measly little 2 track single...

Wow, it's been around a year since I rediscovered this HOT JAM, and I still play it like once a week! I don't know why I let myself sort of forget about it for a few years prior.

I still love it even after all these years. I have since grown to love the monstrous Johnny Vicious mix also.
Thunderpuss Mix
Johnny Vicious Mix
Club 69 Mix
Even though "Kiss The Rain" was their first proper remix of a song that got attention and lead to this remix happening, this was the remix that put Thunderpuss on the map and then they were in heavy demand until they disbanded in 2003.

All versions still go HARD.
That wig on the single cover is NOT it though.

I'm am familiar with the Thuderpuss remix though I think B96 played the album version on regular rotation instead as they were moving away from dance music (outside the mix shows) at that point.

This remix was Amazing and it got me to start buying all of Thunderpuss’s work. This was out during my peak clubbing days and it was played at both the straight and gay clubs. I still remember being at one of the biggest straight clubs in Boston and when this came on a bunch of muscular guys were chanting the lyrics and stomping their feet. I also remember a guy saying once “Wow, I never thought I would be buying a Whitney Houston song” In Boston this got a lot of radio play and used to be blaring out of so many car windows at the time. Ahh, what a time to be a Whitney fan…
