Right after this song came out, I bought the 45 single. For several months, I thought it was a MAN singing lead (I was just a kid so Pointer SISTERS didn't completely register), until my best friend told me otherwise.
Anyway, this is one of my all-time favorite Pointer Sisters songs!

By far, the best Pointer Sisters song. It doesn't sound like their other songs. I didn't even realize it was them for the longest time, when the song first debut in the early 80's. It is one of those "feel good" songs.

For several months, I thought it was a MAN singing lead Yeah... I remember while this song was climbing the top 40, Rick Dees mentioned something like, "And no, that's not Stevie Wonder singing lead!" One of my favorites by the Pointers. :)

The song was heard in "The Return of the Six Million Dollar Man & The Bionic Woman" in 1987.

I remember calling a radio station and asking them to play the new Kool & the Gang, Automatic. he laughed and said it's by the Pointer Sisters

It's an OK song, but they've had better.

^ That's a sick pic! Yuck! Don't tell me that you're just now noticing it. Tico's had it up there for several weeks now (though the caption underneath has changed several times). As stated in another thread, in a weird way, I find her a little sexy. :)

My favorite from the Pointer Sisters! I only heard it played on the radio once during a "Saturday Night 80s" show that I was taping. I must've listened to that tape a hundred times.

I used to have it taped off of American Top 40's Top 100 of 1984 but I lost the cassette years ago.

Never really liked this one all that much. Ha! I thought it was a dude singing lead for a long time myself.

Oooh memories of Phoenix, AZ when my dad and sisters spent quality time with each other while mom was at work...

One of those songs that never fails on a dancefloor. And for quite good reason, too, since it's as infectious as they come!

Love this song. It saved the Break Out era for the girls after lead single I Need You flopped....

I'm not exactly a huge Pointer Sisters fan, but I adore this song. I love Ruth Pointer's vocals, the production is incredible and the the chorus is one of the catchiest I've ever heard. This is one of the oldest songs I put on when I'm going for a night out, it never fails to get me in the right mood.

I thought it was sung by a man too.
