Lead off single of the Norwegian female songwriter duo from the Pokemon soundtrack. This song peaked at #40 on CHR/Pop.
Some people argue that their lack of success was a result of childish sounding voices as well as being from the Pokemon soundtrack. However "Shades of Purple" was top notch pop at the time.
It's a shame that the group disbanded shortly after the release of their sophomore effort.

This was awful.Β Their follow-up album was much better.

It was pretty good, but I didn't appreciate it that much until long after it was off the charts.

This song was great! I don't know what the lyrics had to do with Pokemon though. The Pokemon soundtrack was just as great filled with fun songs by Billie and Emma Bunton p/k/a Baby Spice.

The first time I heard this, I thought it was a new Donna Lewis single.
I'm surprised this only peaked at #40. I knew it wasn't a major hit, but Z100 played it a lot and most people are familiar with this song. I would have guessed around #20 or #25.
This song was everywhere when I was in Spain in March 2000.

Good song. What I liked about it was that it was teen pop without being teen pop, if you know what I mean. It stood out from the Britney/Christina/Mandy/Jessica train that was rolling at the time.

Yeah, I thought this was junk too. One of the last things I want to hear is a couple of girls that sound like they're nine years old acting like they can tell somebody else what love is.

On the contrary, the song is about telling their significant other "Don't say you love me, you don't even know me." They don't want to get into this "love thing" because they're still young and they're not ready!

I hated this song, but then I loved it! I ended up buying the single, album, and Pokemon soundtrack. Excellent.

The song was catchy, but I was annoyed with it after a couple of listens.

[red]F-[/red]. With those voices singing those lyrics, it sounds like they're singing to a child molestor.

It wasn't terrible, but I liked "Mirror Mirror" more than this, and "Everything" more than "Mirror Mirror".

I couldn't stand this, mainly because of their voices. They were whiny and sounded like chipmunks.
It's too bad "Everything" was overlooked, because that was actually a really good song.

[red]F-[/red]. With those voices singing those lyrics, it sounds like they're singing to a child molestor. LMAO! I actually liked this song a lot, it's cool. Their voices were kinda childish and chipmunk (ok, very) but both their albums have solid tunes on them with good lyrics which they actually wrote. "Mirror Mirror" was a pretty mature song considering how old they were and the video was hot (the guy, not M2M!).

"Mirror Mirror" was a pretty mature song considering how old they were and the video was hot (the guy, not M2M!). I thought you meant the "Don't Say You Love Me" video so I went to go watch it. It has unattractive guys jumping around a drive thru movie! I KNOW I've seen the video before so I guess it wasn't very memorable. I donated my $2.97 "Don't Say You Love Me" import (I bought in an outlet at Barstow) to children in need when my school club held a toy drive during Christmas. The single was relative unopened so I hope some little chick-a-dee out there had a fun time listening to the CD (or used it as a coaster). I never liked "Mirror Mirror." I thought "Everything You Do" was much better. There was a maxi single released for it in the US. Marit has a cute haircut in the "Everything You Do" video. -- Okay, I've just seen the "Mirror Mirror" video. How the fk did this get approved by Disney?! I know the single was a hit on Disney.. I hope they edited Marion fondling the shirtless guy. And why doesn't Marit ever get the guy?!?!?!??! They way they edited clips of her into the "Mirror Mirror" video makes her look like Marion's lesbian lover. No wonder they broke up, that Marion is such a dominating limelight hog! >:(

Never ever ever a big M2M fan...or any type of M2M fan at all. Their music sucked (no offense to fans)

I always got the impression that Marion was hogging the limelight and loved it... and Marit was content sitting in the background. I think Marit was prettier than Marion anyway. "Everything You Do" was a great breezy pop song, it reminds me of The Corrs.

One of the few female duos in the rock era. Others we've heard since 1990:
Yaki-Da Shakespear's Sister Changing Faces The Indigo Others t.A.T.u.

Both "Shades Of Purple" and "The Big Room" were solid albums. I was listening to "Shades Of Purple" last night. I love their harmony on "Our Song," toward the end. I like their little giggle during that part too!
