This is a total guilty pleasure of mine from 1986 or so. I was working my first job at the time and can remember most everyone being really "into" this song, and even the video, mimicking Stacey spinning around in different outfits. I just saw this as #98 on VH1's "Greatest One Hit Wonders" countdown, but the thing is Stacey was NOT a one hit wonder!
"We Connect" did hit #35, and a song from the second album, "Don't Make A Fool Of Yourself" made it into the 60's - not a hit, but a good song! That would should have done better.
Another song that was out at the same time as this was "Baby Love" by Regina, which made #10. This one sounded very similar to Madonna's sound at the time. As far as I know, Regina was never heard from again!

Wow I remember this video was one of the first music videos I had ever seen. I don't remember quite when it was but I loved the concept of music tv even at an early age. But I am sure it was a good 2 or 3 years after it was released

It's okay to hear every now and then. It does get annoying fast.

Boy does this song take me back... first semester in 10th grade, I had art class for first period, and we got to play the radio. Usually it'd be on Y106 out of Orlando, and I remember when they played this song everyone started laughing at the "I-I-I-I-I-I need-I need you" part. I saw her perform (well, lipsync) this song on "Solid Gold"... boy was she scrawny.
Also remember seeing Regina do "Baby Love" on "Solid Gold", too.

"We Connect" did hit #35. I remember when Stacey tried to promote this song by premiering it on "The Facts Of Life". Too bad it didn't really catch on, because I liked this song a lot better than "Two Of Hearts". I found the "I-I-I-I-I-I Need You" part sexy, in a way, although it was also embarrassing and annoying.

I remember when she was on Full House. Stacey Q was DJ's favorite artist or something...My friend bought the season one DVD (you need to see these episodes...they're so cheesily hilarious)....the best line of the episode:
Danny: What's going on here? Joey: "DJ cut school to get Stacey Q's autograph."
That said, this song is a huge guilty pleasure.

Wasn't that the one where she and Kimmy were at the mall and when they saw Danny and Joey, they hid, but Michelle saw her sister and walked over to her, thus giving her away?

DJ put the thermometer into Danny's coffee. Her temperature was like 108, lol.

It's alright but yeah it's pretty cheesy. I heard something about her being in porn now.

I think about It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia when I hear it now. I enjoy it.
JessieLou- according to Wikipedia (I know), she appeared in a gay porn film in a non-pornographic role.

I absolutely adore this song. I first discovered it through VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders program, and I bought it on iTunes soon after.

This will never not remind me of The Facts of Life. Oh and I'm pretty sure she ate a pencil in that episode?

I love this still. It's a bit cheesey, but it's good cheeky fun.
I really like the re-recorded version Stacey did in the 90s.

This was a High Energy classic. Stacey Lynn Swain; had the perfect vocals for the genre. I was actually still into Pop music when this came out and was certainly into dance music. Stacey ;was known as, SSQ, and had more of a New Wave sound in the early 80's. She still worked with Jon St. James, but the sound was different. One of my favs from SSQ was "Synthecide"

I hated this song when I was younger. I occasionally heard it as an 80s flashback on B96 and though the song was so cheesy. However, the song has slowly grown on me in recent years and do like it once in a while.
