Most of the Commodores' ballads -- like "Three Times A Lady," "Sail On," or "Still" -- are just too cheesy for me. But this 1977 single is phenomenal IMO. It strikes the perfect balance between easy listening and mid-tempo funk. The synthesizer solo is the high-point of this track for me. I think it's my favorite Lionel Richie song, period. Not only do I enjoy the instrumental backing, but I just really feel the lyrics... That's right: I, too, am easy like Sunday morning. Hot 100: #5 R&B: #1(1 week) UK: #9

...and Faith No More remade the song as well back in 1995, which made the Top 30 Hitlist with Elvis Duran. Now you call Faith No More one hit wonders? I'd still say yes, since it was still a moderate hit, not as big as "Epic".

Love this song. Maybe my favorite by Lionel Richie with or without the Commodores.

I like it. Faith No More had a decent version as well. That was back in the early 90s.

What chart wsa Elvis going by?

AFAIK, the longer ending is only on original 1977 pressings of the album "Commodores". Reissues have the shorter ending.
