Off of the soundtrack to the movie "Varsity Blues" this top 30 pop smash was a comeback single of sorts for Collective Soul who then went on to have some great rock radio hits, but no more pop hits.
I liked it. It's mellow but a great song to listen to during times when you're reminiscing about the old days.

I really enjoyed this song. It's my favorite song from Collective Soul. Either Casey or Ed mentioned it last year when he was doing a list of the shortest song titles in the Rock Era.

*Gasp* I really liked the chorus of this song. In fact, I think I'm gonna go download it right now. It'll give me more to add to the nostalgia from that time.

I'll say the same thing about Collective Soul as I said about Hootie an hour ago. I was a fan; I enjoyed nearly all their singles (including this one), but the band's music hardly seemed to go anywhere over time, and as a result, I don't really care too much for them today.

Love this song. Especially the strings part. Orgasmic! I had a weird coincidence happen to me regarding this song. I bought the album at a resale shop for $3.98. My first CS album. But I simply loved that song, so I bought it for that song alone. I drove from the resale shop 15 minutes away to a clothing store. And as I was trying on clothes the muzak version of Run came on over the PA system. How weird is that?
Another weird CS coincidence. I was playing the same CD listening to No More, No Less. I parked at Einstein Bagel and walked in the door. The exact same song was playing over their PA system. I thought at first it was the radio, but I remembered I had been listening to the CD. I mentioned it to the kid behind the counter and we agreed that it was really weird. Another kid said that it was on the Einstein Bagel compilation CD for them to play over the PA that they had just received.
I'm waiting for the third weird occurrence. Maybe it is a sign? LOL!

I thought Dosage showed a lot of growth actually. They may have stepped back or sideways or whatever with Blender, but there is no denying that Dosage is quite different than their first three releases. I guess everyone's opinion of growth or whatever is different. For me, it's more important if the music is relevant. If the music captures the mood and sounds good, I could care less whether it shows "growth". I don't think U2's ATYCLB showed much growth, but I loved the album anyway.

the tune reached #76 on the Hot 100 in 1999 and it was on the charts the same time as "Heavy" which charted slightly higher

Like I said in another Collective Soul thread, they're a really good band. "Run" isn't one of my top 5 songs by them, but it's ok.

This is a good song. It was a moderate pop hit reaching #26 on the R&R CHR/Pop chart in 1999.

I liked Collective Soul's pop crossover songs and even some non-crossovers at the time. Decent group but not the most interesting one.

This song was great and should have been a bigger hit. I still hear it time to time on the radio and in stores, etc. I think the fact that "Heavy" was out at the same time limited the success that it could have had.

One of my favorite Collective Soul songs, along with Shine.
