1985 #4 R&B hit, it's been sampled quite a bit... I think it's almost one of those songs that a lot of people would recognize without knowing what it was.

I don't remember if I made a topic on here, or the R&R board. Good pick! I'm a big fan of their work and much of Angela's solo material. I prefer a lot of their ballads, "You Don't Have To Cry," "Your Smile," "My First Love," but "I'll Be Good" is a catchy one.

Angela Winbush is one of the WORLD"S GREATEST vocalist. Her range is like WHOA!! "I'll Be Good" is one of those "that's my song" type of songs. My favorite by Angela is "Please Bring Your Love Back" from her "It's The Real Thing" album.

Don't forget Angela wrote and produced the amazing "I have learned to respect the Power of Love" for Stephanie Mills. She also recorded it herself later on. Angela can hit some notes too! A very underrated diva.

#6 R&R Urban Hit I used to keep track of the Urban charts in 1985 before moving to England in early 1986. What saddens me a bit is that their last hit "Save Your Love.." stalled at number 2 on R&R's Urban chart, while it was number one on Billboard.

I'll Be Good reached #47 in 1985 on the pop chart I cannot believe it came that close to making the Top 40. Back then Pop radio in Wichita took forever to add R&B leaning songs to their playlist. For example "Object Of My Desire" recieved zero airplay in the Wichita area and peaked at #25 and in the 30s on the airplay side.

Great mid-80's jam, which builds upon a hook similar to Kraftwerk's "Trans-Europe Express", this couple had a great vocal combo. But they split and she I believe married Ron Isley. Also the basis for Foxy Brown/Jay Z hit from 1999 called "I'll Be".

I like the song at first but then it got overplayed while I was living in Wichita, KS. I still don't really like it to this day.

This would be a great cover for Usher and Beyonce. This is my favorite uptempo from Lady Angela and Rene.

Looooove this one!!! Such a freaking classic! Foxy Brown and Jay Z did a cover of this in 1996.
