David Bowie hadn't yet had a major US hit when this was released in the spring of 1975...and this wouldn't be one. Peaked at #32 on the R&R chart and #28 on Billboard.
I heard it yesterday on Joe FM and got its chorus stuck in my head for the rest of the day, lol.
It's a rather catchy number...I like it.

It wasn't a big pop hit, no, but it was huge on AOR. And even though it never broke into hot rotation at pop radio, pop did spin it as an oldie for many years. Pop stations used to do a lot of that: artists who'd had big hits at pop would sometimes see their tracks that had only been hits at AOR or Urban show up in gold rotation at pop a year or so after release.
