This was the song that made me stand up and take notice. They had several huge singles on my personal chart but I hadn't realized they never made any BillBoard charts until this song. That means that "A.D.I.D.A.S" , "No Place To Hide" , "Good God" , & "Shoots & Ladders" never charted ??? Still hard to believe. Great song the whole "Follow The Leader" era was great.

If you peruse R&R, you'll see everything but "Good God" charting...I think "No Place To Hide" got to around #32, and "A.D.I.D.A.S." in the similar vicinity. Seems like "Shoots" and "Blind" made the lower end of the Rock chart... But aside from that, "Got The Life" and "No Place To Hide" are my favorites...

I know that on R&R, both Korn singles from the first album only charted for one week, and peaked at #49 and #50, respectively ("Blind" and "Shoots & Ladders"). Interestingly enough, they both charted three months apart and were both on over a full year after the album had been out. However, if "Faget" counts, then only two of those did.
I had a like/hate relationship with this one, and it's okay, but I prefer the follow-up, "Freak On A Leash".... "Blind" is the best single tho IMO, because it's everything done right in a Korn song. NPTH was great tho.

I didn't like this song that much, but then again I was never a big Korn fan to begin with.

the first few times i heard this, i hated this, but gradually over time i've enjoyed it... guess the fact i liked "Freak On A Leash" and "Falling Away From Me" were big factors for me to like it.

This was a very exciting time to be a Korn fan. They were on the verge of a breakthrough and they totally stepped up to the plate and nailed it with the songs on this album, thus bringing new-metal to the mainstream, for better or for worse. I still remember the very first time I heard this song.
All these elements make it a great song: The snare crack on the pick-up The main guitar riff David's repeated drum fill The urgency of Jon's verses Their trademark fragile guitar lines in the verses (among the best they've ever done) The cooling down and rebuilding effect in the bridge
In fact, the only complaint I have about the song is that both verses are over before the first chorus, never to return. (That means no more wicked guitar cries. They did this again on "Falling Away From Me," which also irked me.)
Also, this video was the first time Korn made a disappointing video, which, little did I know, would basically be par for the course from then on. The first of many big-budget messes.
I'm actually a little burned out on this song and "Freak on a Leash," because radio won't leave either one alone, but it's not nearly as bad as all the early '90's grunge hits.

Good song. In fact, it's probably my favorite Korn track, though many of their hits from the CD are great.
