I didn't want to take Fogelberg totally off topic, the song I really dug on volume 2 and I have it on a 45 is Ariel by Dean Friedman! That song is a total hoot!! "we got the munchies so we made some spaghetti." lol
And it was almost impossible to find Sausolito Summernight on CD when I picked this CD up several years ago. don't know if thats the case now.
I really like the Chiliwack and Van STephenson tracks from first volume, and Tony Carey and Steel Breeze are good to have in collections as well.

Woohoo! I love these CDs. Hoping that a third volume will be released, it's overdue.
First volume, besides the songs you mentioned, I also love the Franke & The Knockouts and Quarterflash tunes, and it's good to have the single edit of "The Safety Dance" (for occasional play only, of course).
Volume two is a bit more eclectic in its selections ("Paloma Blanca"! Mac Davis! LOL), but plenty of now-rarely-heard classics like LeRoux, Chris Thompson, and Stonebolt.

Chris Thompson was also the vocalist during Manfred Mann's big 70s-early 80s era stuff. He did a solo album, but I found the single from it, "Love And Loneliness" which I bought on a whim because the original Motors track is one of my all time fave songs. His version was atrocious.

Man, I don't even know half the songs listed above, but I feel I have a pretty good music vocabulary. I recognize (on volume II) I Couldn't Say No, Wham Bam Shang-a-lang, Paloma Blanca, Sausalito Summernight, and Hearts On Fire. Dat's It.

Is there a syndicated show about this? He has a show that airs on WODS in Boston, not sure if it's carried on any other stations. Used to stream the show at www.lost45s.com, but not anymore.

Sunny 101.5 (WNSN) in South Bend aired it about five years ago, but now they no longer have it. The only 80s program they have is "The Amazing 80s".
