The comeback single for the album that never was. 'I'm Right here' peaked at #39 CHR, #5 UK, and did pretty well on TRL, but no album ever appeared and she hasn't been seen since.
To be honest, this disappointed me. It was OK, but the lyrics were really cheesy, especially in the bridge, and it was by far the weakest of her 7 singles, which i'd rank as follows.
1. Always Come Back To Your Love 2. Gotta Tell You 3. Body To Body 4. Baby Come On Over (This Is Our Night) *gap* 5. Don't Need You To Tell Me I'm Pretty 6. Lately 7. I'm Right Here

It was bad. Second only to "Don't Need You To Tell Me I"m Pretty" as her worst.

I loved it when it was out.
08/29/02: "I'm Right Here" [#3] [10 wks]
So it didn't last long and I really haven't listened to it in two years, but I did like it when it was out.

The video didn't fit the song. Fire hydrants?! This is a song I wouldn't mind if they just filmed Samantha dancing in a club and meeting the eyes of a hot guy across the room.

It was pretty bland and mediocre. I liked it there for awhile but it was totally disposable pop.
What's the latest Mumba gossip... has she crawled up a hole and disappeared? I want a new album!

I honestly don't know. I mean, she was succesful in the UK< even with this single.
I read an intercview with her manager a few months ago and he claimed she was taking her time, cos she wanted to make a great, great album that would establish her as the new Janet Jackson. But i've since heard rumours that she was dropped, but nothing confirmed. I don't know.
Since Jamelia broke big, I kinda feel that even if she did come back there might not be a place for her :(

Compared to her first two singles (Gotta Tell You and Baby...) this was extremely disappointing. I just could not get into it. I am not surprised it flopped.

It was pretty bland and mediocre. I liked it there for awhile but it was totally disposable pop. I liked it so much at a time, that it "hit #2" on my chart! (I didn't update it in August, 2002, so I just put a fake peak for it when I continued my chart in October.)

It had a nice bounce to it, but it was very faceless and generic.

I never knew about this at the time. It's decent and I probably would've bought the single in 2002 had it been released here, but it's nothing compared to the singles off of her debut, which have, for the most part, held up pretty well.

I loved this at the time!
Twas sad that she could never really follow up her strong debut.

I loved this!! I had the single. I’m not sure if it was an import or not, but I was all for it. I’m reading comments about it being faceless etc. It sounds like a decent amount of songs that were out at the time.

I still give this a spin every now and then. I love all the leaked demos from the album this was supposed to be featured on at the time. Would have been a great album, IMO.

I never heard it until about ten years after it came out, not sure if they even tried with it in the US. I still like it, but it wasn't strong enough to launch an album, which I guess goes to show why the album was scrapped.
Samantha Mumba completely falling off post-debut has always made me sad.

I liked it somewhat at the time, but when I relistened years later it was really obvious how much weaker it was than her prior singles.

Loved this one! I remember seeing the video on TRL.
