After having two top 10 hits "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)", and "Someday", "I Will Be There" was the third top 40 hit for Glass Tiger. It stalled at number 25. I felt this song was much better than their top 10 hits. I always wondered why this song didn't do better.
They had one more top 40 hit in 1988 called "I'm Still Searching," and this was it for Glass Tiger.

Boy, Pete, you're picking out some pretty obscure songs here!
I liked this song a lot and also think it should have done it better.
I associate this song with 1988 more than 1987, since in the spring of 1988, the song was featured on "Powerline" with Jon Rivers (a repeat of a 1987 show, I imagine, since it contained a lot of music from that year) and I listened to the tape a lot in 1988.

This song to me was a booooring. I can see why it peaked sooo low, for real. I did not hear any catch or hook to it. When I listening to AT40 while living in the UK, I remember it peaking only at number 34, the R&R peak really surprises me. At the time they did not get Rick Dees Top 40, however they did get Scott Shannon's "Rockin' America" before they decided to finally use R&R.

I'm guessing that the song didn't make the "Rockin' America" countdown, right? A lot of songs that peaked in the 20s were held off the Rockin' America chart for some reason. "Soul City" by the Partland Brothers was one of them, even though it peaked at 23 on the R&R chart. During the summer of 1987, the chart seemed to be a combination of R&R and Billboard. George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" had the same three week trend as on Billboard when it peaked (4-2-3), then the week after, it followed R&R's trend on its way down (14-16-29-off).

It's an okay song.
"Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" is their only song that I love.

It's an okay song. "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" is their only song that I love. It's OK as well, but I also like "Someday".
