The follow-up to their debut single (on the Top 40 chart, anyway) "Don't Disturb This Groove", this song didn't quite make the Pop chart (although I think it was released to Pop). It did well on the Urban Contemporary chart, though. The song sounds very much like the Doobie Brothers song from 1976, "Taking It To The Streets". The chord progressions are about the same, and the saxophone solos in the middle of both songs sound similar.
How's this for a bummer - I go to the local music store about eight years ago to order the LP "Don't Disturb This Groove". It cost about ten bucks. Then, a week later, I'm at Wal Mart and I see a bin with tapes on sale for less than a dollar. Guess what tape was among them all?

This was a boring song though I did tape it from the radio in 1987 when it hit the Urban top 10, I never even gave it a listen since.

I like it, but I definitely prefer "Don't Disturb This Groove"!! So much superior.
This sounds like something from a movie soundtrack.

Never been a fan of this one. The production is like a lesser "Don't Disturb This Groove," and the chorus is corny.
"Save Me" is my favorite from that album after "Don't Disturb This Groove".
