No one is talking about bottom line figures, strictly US success. We all know artists can be big in random countries like South Korea, Germany, and Brazil.
Leona will NOT have US success if she don't release some uptempos and Americanized tracks. This AINT THE UK!

I don't really care about the US and I'm not talking about random countries, I am talking about Europe. European market for music is now > US market, as shown by the headline figures. That's were she should be focusing.

I would like for her to have the best of both worlds. Obviously, Europe is more important to her since she sold loads there and she should court that audience. However, having a song or two that can and do appeal beyond Europe is not a bad idea to me.

If they want this next album to be as successful sales wise as Spirit they will have to step up their game in other markets and the US is their best bet.

That's some amazing horse ranch mansion she's got there. I wouldn't call that a mansion. That's a house. It's way too small to be considered a mansion.

From Leona's blog:
May 04 2009 - Update from LA! Hi there, I am on my way home to London and thought I’d update you on how things are going. I’ve been in the studio loads working with Ryan Tedder, which has been really exciting, I enjoy creating with him so much ‘cos he has lots of ideas and he’s so passionate!
I’ve also been working with a lot of talented writers and producers and I’m on a journey to find people I really connect with creatively! I’ve recorded some songs which I truly feel inspired by and I’m looking forward to sharing them.
I’ve also been having an awesome time in LA. I have been with the horses and riding loads, the other day my horse got a bit scared and head-butted me which hurt my lip and cheek pretty bad! I was in hiding for a few days waiting for the swelling to go down!
I also saw… wait for it… Michael Jackson! The other day my friend and I were shopping in Urban Outfitters (love that store!) on Melrose and as we were driving back there was a big commotion at the side of the road. People were scrambling and falling all over the place, we looked into the car that was right beside us and he got in and started signing autographs for people! That made my day, plus I got a really cute top from Urban so I was happy!
Well, I will blog again soon!
Love always Leona-x-
Aww, soooooooooo cute :)

Yeah i dont think J records will be too happy seen as they are US based if she doesnt have success in the US, they should then pull in figure out and pick decent singles in the right order if they want her to do well. She wont have the same hype that she had on the last album and she will have to get in to shape if she wants those figures.

Get into shape? There's nothing wrong with Leona's shape. She looks fab in all the dresses she wears. No fashion blunders here.

Yeah, Leona doesn't need (has she ever?) sex appeal to sell her records! It's all about the voice. She could wear a face veil and still sell five million albums. She's just that type of artist.

These horse jokes are ridiculously old. No doubt she looks ten times better than the people who make them too.

It sure ain't the cutest nose I've seen, but as a singer I'd be kinda scared to f*ck around with it if I were her.

twitter.com/IamNovel It's good to know that Leona will be writing on the new album, hopefully she'll have more than 2 co-written songs this time and she looks super cute especially on the first pic.

If you've got the voice, you don't need sex appeal. Leona's main attraction is her range.

The international Bleeding Love video had sex appeal, and it was way better than the toned down US vid. So do a few of her photoshoots, but in a subtle way. I don't see why she shouldn't make the most of what she's got. As long as she doesn't go all hoochie-fied.

Sept. 8th seems a little too soon to me. I think it'll be either the last week of Oct, like Spirit was originally, or one of the first two weeks of Nov.

Yeah, I can't see a September release either. All the momentum will have been lost before the holiday season sales, which I'm sure is integral to their plan. Unless they're planning two singles before Christmas?
