It's so cliche and really panders to its audience. That's the impression I get too. It's pandering, but certainly not to John Rich levels. Wait; has the song going a key higher without the singer changing his key ever been done before? Well played.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday. Wow is it bad. It's so cliche and really panders to its audience. Of course, the radio audience is apparently eating it up so go figure. I can't think of anything original or good in this song. Wait; has the song going a key higher without the singer changing his key ever been done before? It's his worst single to date, easily. I'm hoping "15 Minutes" gets released at some point, but I think it's looking likely that, if it is ever released, it'll be at earliest the fourth single, and both "Friends With Tractors" and "Chasin' Girls" will get single treatment first. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This song is so bad and the lyrics are so ridiculous that I actually can't help but listen when it comes on. It's like watching a trainwreck -- you can't look away. I guess it's hooked me, in a strange way.

This, of all songs, looks likely to break the streak of 1 week #1s. It leads the Real Time Tracker as of noon on Sunday. I would never have guessed that that would happen. I agree with most others that this song is pretty bad.

I agree with most others that this song is pretty bad. As much as I dislike this single a lot, I was actually hoping this would fend off the even worse "She's Country" this week! At least the former didn't sound that ostensible, whereas "She's Country" is entirely in-your-face with some of the most sexist, dumbest lyrics I've ever heard. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I don't get the Rodney Adkins number one juggernaut phenomenon. Everything this guy releases, good or not so good, gets to the top. Nope, don't get it. I know country stations are supposedly the "all american patriotic/flag in your face music" stations, but this song, come on.

^ Even more puzzling to me is that "Invisibly Shaken" didn't even make the top 40, while his other 5 singles were all multi-week #1 hits.

Or c.) The Garth factor. "More Than A Memory" debuted at #1 on what would have been the second week at #1 for "These Are My People."

I have a hunch "Chasin' Girls" will be the second single, given it alludes to water fights and other iconic summertime images (for those who haven't heard it, it has nothing to do with what "chasin' girls" is often referring to! ;) )

The radio countdowns that i heard gave Rodney a 2nd week with "These Are My People"......they had Garth at like #4 or something. I agree that "Chasin' Girls" would be a good choice for the second single.
