Since Circus leaked in full minus two songs, I think we can now do a fair comparison on which is better. So?

Are people really that disappointed in Circus? I am as of now. I adored Blackout and listened to it probably more than what was healthy So I was excited for more good music, but over half of the songs are just boring or generic. It could grow on me though. Some of my favs on Blackout did not grow on me until months after the release.

I think I have to go with Blackout. There's some good songs on Circus (Amnesia is my fav), but Blackout as a whole was more satisfying. It might have been because it was more of a "producers" record and production is pretty much what I look for in her songs.

Some of my favs on Blackout did not grow on me until months after the release. I think Circus offers more variety, more artistry and is the more clever album. While I do think Blackout has some very well produced tracks this album has much more punch and personality for me. There is only one song that I am really disappointed with and that's Shattered Glass. I think it's much more cohesive in terms of quality, Blackout in terms of sound and genius it clocks out after Toy Soldier for me. I think this one stays consistent through out.

I have a feeling Blackout is going to win .... I'm enjoying Circus more. That's how I feel. I think Blackout had a great handful of tracks (Gimme More, Piece Of Me, Radar, Break The Ice, Get Naked, Freakshow and Toy Soldier) but there are also some really underwhelming songs to say the least (Heaven On Earth, Hot As Ice, Ooh Ooh Baby, Perfect Lover and Why Should I Be Sad). I can say at the very least for Circus each song is fun and entertaining. Even the weaker tracks have a genuine charm, charisma and personality to them (Mmm Papi and Lace & Leather). Atleast Britney sounds alive here and not just horny.

The only track I'm not liking too much right now is Mmm Papi, I like the production though. I LOVE Lace and Leather though :o

Blackout is a pop masterpiece and that isn't going to change just because Circus has leaked. So far from what I've heard Circus does have some AMAZING tracks (Circus, If You Seek Amy, Out From Under) but IMO, at this moment, Blackout was overall stronger. My opinion could change over time (as some tracks I am sure I will need time to fully appreciate, much like with Blackout). Though Circus is really good on first listen, it is not good enough to knock out Blackout after one night. Check back with me tomorrow. lol

The only track I truly can't get into is "Shattered Glass" but even the production of that is on point.

Check back with me tomorrow. lol I don't know about that...I will say this the albums are completely opposite. It's like day versus night. Blackout is much more nefarious, seedy and darkly sinister while Circus is much more summery, bright and sweetily poppy. It definetely goes after Britney's pop roots. The only songs that have a remote resemblence to Blackout are Womanizer, Kill The Lights and Circus.

Now that I've listened to Circus, Blackout easily takes it.

Circus. Blackout had nice uptempo tracks but nothing amazing other then Toy Soldier and Get Naked. Circus has diverse tracks (ballads) and shows growth. I can't get enough of it lol

Blackout is the producer's wetdream. Circus profiles the resurgence of a fallen star. Ultimately, it comes down what you value more: a faceless album brimming with pioneering pop ideas or a less adventurous effort that puts Brit back front & center. Honestly, Blackout wins. But I'm so glad Britney is on the comeback trail.

But I'm so glad Britney is on the comeback trail. I couldn't have said it better myself. Blackout is the infinitely superior album, but thankfully Circus will have the infinitely better era. So while I'll revel in Britney's comeback success and happiness, it'll be Blackout that I continue to play, and not its weaker successor.

I tried my hardest to convince myself that I love Circus more than Blackout but I failed. :( Blackout is such a smash record. I don't care how much of her voice we get to hear on it but the beats are just crazy. Circus already has a great era surrounding it, but musically, my heart belongs to Blackout. On the other hand, Circus is a more personal album than Blackout, but it's not as instant as the latter was. That's just me, though.

Thats the best explanation between the difference of Blackout and Circus. Circus sounds like a mild recreation of Blackout. They try to use elements that Bloodshy & Avant and Danja heavily incorporated on Blackout. For example on Circus with the vocals surrounding around the hooks and verses.

"Blackout" is the only Britney album I've ever truly enjoyed. It's dark and mysterious, with outstanding production.
Quick random question: Why is "Radar" on Circus? ???

Yeah, though Circus is a good album it doesn't hold a candle to Blackout. Blackout's on a whole other level.

I might be in the minority here and I love Blackout and all but I think its way overrated compared with Circus. Blackout is great. It has so many good songs. But Circus shows growth, has a nice variety of songs, and to actually hear her voice is amazing again. Circus hands down.

Circus would not make me look out for a new Britney album that Blackout did. That album brought Britney to a whole new album just like Slave 4 U did.
