I hope she pisses back off to Japan or whereever she's from. Her voice is dreadful --soooooo weak. Born in NYC, speaks fluent English

Ummm, she doesn't sound so good on this track, but I think she has a great voice. "First Love" is a great vocal performance from her. A bad singer couldn't sing a song like that so well.

"Come back to me" is only mellow R&B feel song in the album. I can't imagine that Rihanna or Christina can sing this kind of delicate song. They, especially Rihanna with no emotional (flat) and no delicate voice, will destroy this song with their "too strong" voice.
I haven't heard "Simple & Clean" and "Sanctuary" until I bought this album, but they are very unique and original and great songs.
I was very impressed with these songs (If you don't like "mainstream" and "radio-friendly" songs, you should try these two songs and "Kremlin Dusk" or "Devil Inside" from her previous album "Exodus" which is very unique experimental album.)
Utada has shown off her song-writing skills from R&B-feel or Latin-feel song (Me Muero) to urban Pop and dance song, and she can sing with a very different singing style, depending on a song, in this album. That's my opinion.

she has a great voice but she's bad in singing English. I would call her as a "poor man's Bjork".

I know Utada is an American born. Her voice is just kinda way too deep with the songs she's been singing in English.

Chrisette got special promotion from Amazon...they released her album a day early and for a discount price ($2.99). survivor thinks that by using Chrisette's tactic or a similar tactic, Utada would get higher sales from it. and more exposure

LOL If that voice sounds "way too deep" to you, you're born with a "not-good ear" for music.

I didn't think I would like her but her album is pretty decent (despite her voice not being the greatest).

I bought the album yesterday, and I feel that this song is the weakest. Her label could've picked a number of better lead singles like "Me Muero" or "Apple and Cinnamon."

I'd like to see "Apple and Cinnamon" as a single.
That or "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, FYI".

FYI FTW. Agree. :) Apple and Cinnamon is a great ballad, but I think that upbeat songs are better after a mellow ballad, "Come back to me". "On and On" might be also a good choice (a club banging song for summer) ?

"FYI" or "On and On" are definitely my top choices for the next single.

Her mistake was years ago in releasing Easy Breezy over Exodus 04.

Her mistake was years ago in releasing Easy Breezy over Exodus 04. Yeah, easy breezy made me wince... though I'm sure her fans in japan thought the rhyme "easy breezy/japanesey" was clever. I read somewhere that her first English album was to please her Japanese fans... Whatever the reason, I like both of her albums (or at least the highlights of those albums :/) and I wish her the best :)

Island Def Jam submitted this for Best Female Vocal Pop Performance for the Grammys (and "This Is The One" was also submitted to two categories.)
