Once she started taking vocal lessons, she lost a lot of her rawness.

I like it too, but its just nice. Mary is gonna have a ton of competition this year, so she needs to put out as strong material as possible. If not, she will be overshadowed by other artists.

I don't think Mary can be overshadowed. I feel like each Diva coming out has a huge following that is going to support them no matter what.

I just hope Geffen doesn't mess over the singles and let this album fall by the wayside the way it did with Growing Pains.

The first single is another urban smash from her. I'm glad she is releasing a SINGLE as the first single.

Mary is nothing but consistent with each release and has pulled bigger opening numbers than majority of these "#1 divas in the game."

Another new song leaked. It's called "Do It Again" and it features T.I. It was produced by Stereotypes.

Do It Again is signature Mary...it's got an old school type theme to it. I'm really anticipating this album

Yeah, she has good opening numbers, but the album soon stalls. She needs to work on follw-up singles to get the best album sales possible.

I wish "Love & Life" would've done better, that's still my favorite Mary album.
I think it all went downhill once "Ooh!" turned into a disaster. It was looking to chart higher than "Love @ 1st Sight" until it was pulled. Does anyone else like the "Ooh!" video?

How does this former crack addict keep getting more and more albums released? Seriously, she only gets ONE HIT per CD. After that is ALWAYS goes down hill with flop after flop.
I hate how she never releases the actual DECENT songs as singles, always ghetto hoodrat anthems!

Ghetto hoodrat anthems are where the sales are at these days for R&B artists, just as Keyshia Cole a.k.a. Mary on fast forward.

Um. Mary has several hits in her catalog. And she certainly isn't known for releasing "ghetto hoodrat anthems." What does that even mean? You are coming across as an ignorant hick when you say things like that.

^^ I never said Mary never had hits. She has some...a lot of them. But they are mostly her 1st singles...which are big based on FIRST-SINGLE-NU-MARY HYPE.
She and her team have NO IDEA on how to follow-up her big hits with another SUCCESSUL single. Most of the times they release the most Urban-sounding song on the CD as Single #2 even when the previous single is a hit on Pop. Makese no sense. That's why her albums level off at just 1-1.2 million. Ghetto marketing!

I don't think that makes it any better. Having a degree doesn't take away ignorance....obviously.
And you said she gets one hit per album. That is incorrect. Mary has been and will always be a primarily urban artist. She may get the occasional crossover hit, but 1) she does not get them with every album, and 2) she is always consistently successful in her core genre. That is why she is still around today.
I wasn't aware that there was something wrong with selling 1-2 million with every release. Look at all the artists who came out around the same time and were selling more than her and having bigger hits. Where are they now? Riiiiight.

"Love & Life"debuted at number 1 and still sold over a million units and she has been consistently doing that since her debut. Some people who have not been following Mary's career would be under the illusion that she just started getting commercial appeal and success with "The Breakthrough" but she has been selling 2-3 mill per album since her career started. Hands down one of the most consistent artists out today.
