I think I Am was a little too much of the same of what we have heard from urban radio in the past 5 years. Just Fine was fresh and new and probably more the type of song to encourage people to go out and buy the album. A hit is still a hit though. If the new song gets bigger, it might help the album. But not all hits sell albums the same.

NASA and Mary J. Blige Encourage Science Careers For Women WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA is collaborating with award-winning recording artist Mary J. Blige to encourage young women to pursue exciting experiences and career choices by studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). A public service announcement featuring veteran NASA space shuttle astronaut Leland Melvin and Blige debuts this week on NASA TV and the agency's website at: www.nasa.gov. NASA's Summer of Innovation (SoI) project and Blige's Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) have much in common. Both show students the many possibilities available if they follow their dreams and reach for the stars. The SoI project is part of the President's Educate to Innovate Campaign. It started earlier this summer to help keep middle school students engaged in fun and stimulating STEM-related activities during the school break. "Working with FFAWN is a rare opportunity to help spread the STEM message into communities not always readily accessible to us," Melvin said. "Mary's presence can help NASA make the STEM message more appealing to these communities and increase the pipeline of underrepresented students going into these disciplines." Working with the NASA Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy project at York College of the City University of New York (CUNY), the joint effort is providing on-the-job training for FFAWN high school participants. High school girls in the program will be prepared to deliver NASA SoI content to middle school students this summer at the New York City Housing Authority Van Dyke Community Center and the Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy. The FFAWN participants also will have the opportunity to support the NASA Academy fall academic session at CUNY as student aides for grades one through nine later this year.

Get Mary J. Blige's Fragrance and Give Back!Friday – July 30, 2010 – 1:12pm I love the scent of Mary J. Blige’s new fragrance, My Life (created with the beauty company Carol’s Daughter). It’s a sweet and sexy aroma that blends my favorite floral notes of gardenia, jasmine and tuberose with earthy wood. But even more than what it smells like, I love the fact that $1 from every sale will go to Mary’s charity FFAWN, an organization that helps young women reach their potential. The fragrance is launching tomorrow on HSN and HSN.com – and for the first time in fragrance history, a scent will be sold on television and online, not in a store environment where one can test the fragrance. Tune in and listen to Mary’s story – it’s so moving! When I met with Mary to talk about the new scent, we swapped beauty secrets. To keep her arms and legs looking glowy and sleek, she smoothes on a coat of Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel. Bonus: those well-moisturized limbs hold onto perfume longer than if they were dry! Learn more about Mary J. Blige My Life on HSN.com and tune in to HSN on July 31 – remember, $1 from every fragrance purchase will help girls!

Mary J. Blige Moves 50,000 Bottles of Perfume on HSNby Justin Fenner | 2:00 pm, August 1st, 2010 All day yesterday, when the rest of the Western world was embroiled in Chelsea Clinton wedding madness, Mary J. Blige was selling her new perfume, My Life, on HSN. And she sold a lot of perfume. WWD tracked the sales of the perfume and tweeted around 11:35 pm that she’d reached 50,000 bottles. It’s a stunning feat of salesmanship and marketing when you consider the stuff was sold on TV and online. While most celebrity fragrances are sold a beauty department counters where buyers can smell the perfume and walk around in it before committing to a purchase, all Blige could do was say what it smells like. RTT News had this description from the singer: “It’s all a reflection of my personality. Me and a lot of my fans want to smell soft and a little fruity — but not too fruity with bees chasing us around — and also strong and beautiful … It’s all there.” We didn’t see the special on HSN, so maybe she did a little better job of selling it there. And it probably helps that the scent was produced in collaboration with Carol’s Daughter, a beauty company that’s racked up tons of celebrity endorsements, including lots of love from Oprah Winfrey. What’s more, the perfume gives back. One dollar from the $55 it costs to buy this stuff goes to Blige’s charity, the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now. We can’t calculate how much of it goes back into Blige’s pocket. But we digress. Fifty thousand units of anything is a lot to sell in one day, even at HSN. Congrats to all involved, but we’re gonna wait to smell it before we decide to buy.

This album just seemed rushed, and isn't really that good, her label takes way too long to release follow up singles. It just has a very dated feel to it.

Yeah, for me this was not a good album. I don't even listen to a single song from it anymore.

I still love Kitchen and In The Morning.
It's crazy that her and Toni Braxton did versions of the latter.
