LOL @ all this controversy. The controversy alone could make this even bigger than womanizer and circus. Radio stations are kidding themselves if they claim they will not play an edited version of this. There would be no reason not to.
This song, and the controversy surrounding it, is perfect for Britney. This is exactly what she needed in 2007, controversy regarding her MUSIC. Her personal life had begun to overshadow the music. I am glad those days are behind us. She can stir up all the controversy in the world using music and music videos and it just translates into dollar signs.

Yeah it just wouldn't be a Britney era without controversy. ;) I just hope radio will play this regardless of whether it's edited or not. Ths song is too good to flop.

If U Seek Amy is awesome! I downloaded this song a couple days ago and I'm already in love with it. But yeah, it'll most likely be controversial due to the possible profanity in the song, which I don't mind at all. It would kill the song if they edited it out on the radio.

I don't get why radio is being so picky with this. I understand what it essentially spells out, but I also heard "Whats Your Fantasy" by Ludacris on the radio today and it dawned on me, why can't radio play this, yet play that song? The lyrical content in that song is far more offensive than this.

Exactly. People are really over-reacting to this.
She is NOT actually saying anything wrong. Just because it sounds like something doesn't mean anything. She is leaving it up to the listener to interpret whatever they would like. Most "edited" versions of songs are still far more explicit than this song could ever wish to be.

That was alot more ambiguous though, left it up to the listener to decide what exactly it was they were going to do with their hand. ;) So only people old enough to to know about that knew what she meant lol. U+UH also had censoring within the song itself I might add.. I don't see how you consider the message bad though, you'd prefer she got it on with the random guy rather than leaving him with his hand?

She is saying if you seek amy...just because it happens to sound like something doesn't mean anything. The listener is deciding that. Who the hell cares. Seriously this thread is annoying.

I think this is a smash right here, it's racy, but Britney makes it seem almost innocent, it' almost IKAGesque, except a lot better

The listener is deciding that. Come on now, if the actual lyrics made any sense than I might agree with you. But they don't, at all. You can't expect me to believe that the people that wrote this song had no intention of it sounding like F-U-C-K Me. I said this earlier, but it's not the least bit clever since the original lyrics don't make sense. It's not a listener decision...if nothing else, the majority of listeners get hit in the face with it.

Just because "if u seek amy" sounds like something explicit does not mean anything.

They could use the HA HA HE HE HA HA HO instead of if you seek amy like this: www.zshare.net/audio/5418233775fbf2fa/But not remove the whole thing just the vocals.. if you know what i mean :/

Just because "if u seek amy" sounds like something explicit does not mean anything. It does not matter. it is about what it sounds like. If she were saying something completely else and it sounded like a curse word it would need to be edited. The best and probably most relevant example is Don't Phunk With My Heart. NOTHING bad is being said but because merely of what it sounds like and the context, it was edited to say Mess. It is wrong for radio to allow something to be played because "Oh shes not technically doing anything wrong". That is the dumbest thing I have heard. It is intentional for one and regardless of that, it sounds like something that needs to be edited. Simple as that. Whether one person gets it right away or a million people do it needs to be edited on radio.

No. Not at all. I've never heard of such a thing, and I know for a fact that many major areas never changed the Black Eyed Peas song. I also know some did, but that was more in your face with the F word than this Britney song. It truly sounded like Fergie was saying fuck, but in this song, while it still is appearant to many, it is not noticable to many more.

LOL @ All this drama about censoring the song. Who cares if they censor it or not, it won't affect its performance. It's like watching All My Children here sometimes. lol
