According to a source close to Jessica, this will be the third single off of the DO YOU KNOW album. She shot a video for this song last week in LA. No add date yet.

Did Remember That ever even go for adds? =/ I'm very disappointed with these performances, both of her first two singles deserved top ten, ESPECIALLY Remember That.

Remember That was her only chance for a hit. That was a great song, shame radio didn't embrace it.

"Remember That" was too preachy...didn't like it.

Why don't they release the Dolly song since her last single flopped

Remember That was her only chance for a hit. I don't agree. There are a lot of tracks on the album that would work as singles - 'Still Beautiful', 'Still Don't Stop Me', 'Sipping On History' and 'Do You Know' (with a radio edit) all have hit potential. 'Pray Out Loud' is a good song, but I don't think it will fare much better than 'Remember That'. I'd be surprised if it reached the top 30. I'm just curious as to why they filmed a video for this, but not 'Remember That'...weird.

Hmmm, seems like a weird choice to me. I don't dislike this song but don't really see it being a hit. I would have preferred Sipping on History or Do You Know also.

No disrespect meant to ontheroadwith, but I'm a bit leery of a single thread based on "a source close to Jessica," when that source is unidentified and there is no credible link to back up the claim. To be clear, I am not doubting ontheroadwith's honesty or good intent. It's more that this forum would be hopelessly cluttered if we allowed single threads to be started on the basis of unsourced rumor and it is customary to wait until there is an official indication. I would have rather that you posted this in the Upcoming Singles thread pending official word.
Normally, I would move this thread to the Non-Singles/Album Tracks forum until there's confirmation. But I believe the Rascal Flatts tour is supposed to be starting sometime around now, so I'm willing to leave this open in anticipation of word from Jessica in concert. Just please don't make it a habit of starting threads unless there is something official from sources like Music Row, All Access, All About Country, Radio & Records or someone's official website. Thanks.

It was confirmed by Jessica's management through SweetKisses.net. Jessica started the tour last night and said it went for adds.

I wouldn't start a thread unless I am 100% sure of what is going on. She announced this FOR SURE at the show last night in Kansas City. Thanks Jess for saying that.

Adding an opinion to the choice for the third single, I think I would've much preferred You're My Sunday. I don't dislike this song, I just don't see this getting play at radio.

This is going to go nowhere. The verses aren't that bad, but the chorus isn't a good fit for her voice and natural phrasings and she really swings and misses with it. There's a good chance that this song will chart, but I don't expect anything more from it, probably a low 50's peak.

If "Remember That" couldn't make it big, this one has ZERO shot of doing so.

Why are they even bothering to release this? It's not going to do well - this era's momentum was lost when 'RT' bombed and Jessica decided to stop promoting the album. I'm pretty sure that any song she puts out at this point will flop, unfortunately. The buzz surrounding her jump to country is completely gone, so she can't coast on that anymore. She needs to get out there and push the album, but she only seems to be interested in promoting her relationship with Tony, not her music. At least she has the RF tour.

There are reports that Jess has been letting herself go, just like Britney did before she hit rock bottom a couple years ago.

I just watched a clip from the Flatts tour on youtube from last weekend and Jessica looks incredible. Don't think she is letting herself go.

This is a really good song. Maybe stations should play the song and not announce the artist because Country radio doesn't seem to want to embrace her.

She's put on a few pounds, sure, but her weight has bounced back and forth for years, basically since the start of her career. It's nothing new.

This is a really good song. Maybe stations should play the song and not announce the artist because Country radio doesn't seem to want to embrace her.im not really sure who's fault that is. they showed a willingness to embrace her when she got a high debut for her 1st country sngle and it went as high as inside the top 20. she got spots on cma fan fests and got good album promo when it came out (high profile appearances, etc.), and she got a lot of "free" publicity too. she was certainly arnd during the time her album dropped, so it wasnt lack of promo. she just failed to capitalize on the initial buzz and goodwill she had. her and her mgt team should knw better to strike while the iron is hot. they did, but it prob rubbd some people in the wrong way. it also doesnt help that its hard to stand out in country music if youre blonde because of all the blondes out there, and some have cemented what their place is. so what is there for her? it would be interesting to see her next career move after the rf tour is over.

Jessica Simpson's weight gain has nothing directly to do with the chart prospects of the single, so please stop bumping up this thread with links/comments about it.
And while we're at it, I don't see the need for the umpteenth round of "why Jessica's country career hasn't taken off" here when the same discussion has already taken place in the "Come On Over" and "Remember That" threads.
Finally, if you're going to reference "reports," identify your source and post a credible link. I would think that the fact that this song has been sent to radio under Columbia Nashville's name (right? That's how it appeared at All About Country, at any rate) would be a credible indication that Simpson hasn't been dropped.
I don't see a real need for a new post in this thread unless it's a link to the video, an official announcement about the video premiere, credible information about a radio adds date and/or an official update on Jessica's record deal status. In other words, if your post isn't specifically about "Pray Out Loud," then it probably doesn't belong here.
