from Billboard magazine: Pet Shop Boys Spread The 'Love' January 16, 2009, Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Synth-pop veterans the Pet Shop Boys will release a new album, "Yes," March 23 internationally through Parlophone/EMI. A North American release has yet to be announced.
First single "Love Etc" arrives March 16. The album is a collaboration with production team Xenomania, best known for its work with U.K. pop titans like Girls Aloud and Sugababes. Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr guests on several cuts, while Final Fantasy's Owen Pallett contributed orchestral arrangements.
"Yes" is the follow-up to 2006's "Fundamental," released in North America by Rhino.
Of late, the group has been a fixture on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart via a collaboration with Robbie Williams dubbed "We're the Pet Shop Boys." They also co-wrote, with Xenomania, the new Girls Aloud single "The Loving Kind."
The Pet Shop Boys will be honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the BRIT Awards, to be held Feb. 18 in London.
Here is the track list for "Love":
"Love Etc" "All Over the World" "Beautiful People" "Did You See Me Coming?" "Vulnerable" "More Than a Dream" "Building a Wall" "King of Rome" "Pandemonium" "The Way It Used To Be" "Legacywww.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003931405
I really liked Fundamental. Can't wait for this one. They recently remixed MGMT's "Kids" but the remixes were not picked up for an official release. They did leak though. The mixes are pretty good.

Can't wait to hear this album. I love PSB and Xenomania creates amazing and diverse pop songs.
I can't believe they didn't remixed "The Loving Kind".

Tennant slams Cowell's music tastesPet Shop Boys star Neil Tennant has blasted TV mogul Simon Cowell - for having too narrow a view of music. Cowell made a name for himself as a record label executive, before becoming a household name on shows such as American Idol and Britain's Got Talent. But Tennant is annoyed that Cowell ignores certain musical genres on his TV talent series, instead choosing mainstream artists' tunes for his singing wannabes to belt out. The singer says, "What bugs me is that Simon Cowell's idea of pop music is so narrow. It's basically people singing Whitney (Houston), Mariah (Carey), maybe Elton (John) - and if it's not power ballads it's an equally narrow version of disco." And Tennant wants to see a more eclectic range of music available for the TV acts to choose from. He adds, "Why don't they have, say, a new-wave week? Or Eighties electro week? There are vast swathes of music out there." uk.news.launch.yahoo.com/dyna/article.html?a=/10022009/364/tennant-slams-cowell-s-music-tastes.html&e=l_news_dm-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kinda like this board, no? Tell it like it is, Neil!

^ LOL, for real.
Anyway, I like "Love etc." I don't think it's super amazing or stuff, but it's definitely a solid track.

Love Etc. made me love the PSB! I'd never heard of them before hearing their single, but I listened to all their albums now!

Their PopArt: The Hits anthology re-peaks at #19 on the UK album chart... More than five years after its release. It originally debuted at #30 and kind of tanked at the time. It bodes well for the new album.

GREAT to know there is new Pet Shop Boys out there!!! Almost 25 years after their debut of West End Girls, and they are still among my favorites ever, and not in a retro classic way, but in a very actual, modern way. Something like Madonna for me (although not as big ;) ) Glad to see them with a bit more Pop sound than their previous efforts. Sounds good, but after hearing Love Etc: "I need more, I need more, I need MORE!" hehe :) Oh! and of course, another good video for them!! I LOVE the cameo of Pac Man!! hehe

Love etc. out this week in the UK.. Hopefully it'll go Top 40 because it's quite tough to be a middle-aged pop act these days chart-wise

It bodes well for the new album. I'm late with this but this is great news. I loved that compilation. I haven't listened to this duo in a while but I suppose Yes would be a nice way to get re-acquainted.
