Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush; Hush Hush ("is the biggest HitPredictor for Top40 we've had in a year! It got an 95, which is one of the highest scores we've ever had..." )
I got that info on the other thread. What does HITpredictor mean and what does it do to help the song itself.
Thanks.

i thought HITpredictor is more like a survey.not necessary really indicating a firm result of the position they will be?

Haha, That is true. "Hush Hush; Hush Hush" is like the worst credibility sign for Hit Predictor But in case you still want to know what that is, this is the information I found on their website: HIT PREDICTORA little over five years ago we started testing songs before airplay. At first we didn't believe it ourselves, but now, after testing almost every release from the past five years, the HitPredictor has shown incredible accuracy in determining the hit potential of new songs prior to airplay. Led by music industry veterans Rick Bisceglia, Guy Zapoleon, and Doug Ford, promosquad HitPredictor over the past 5 years has become the undisputed #1 brand of predictive music research in the nation. HitPredictor performs online predictive music research with a huge nationwide database of music listeners who rate songs, with results determining their "Hit" potential before they are released to the radio. In fact, many of todayโs Top 10 charting songs were identified by record labels and radio programmers as a result of this companyโs direction. Here are some facts:Everything tested is eligible to make the Promosquad HitPredictor weekly chart. Songs appearing in the HitPredictor chart are not just songs that labels have hired us to help pick. Testing every song helps us analyze Promosquad results vs the charts so as to maintain our incredible accuracy The HitPredictor chart includes songs tested once labels have decided upon their single and have an official impact date already planned (whether we helped or not). Only positive results, songs with Hit Potential, will appear in the HitPredictor chart. All other scores and information remain confidential. How we test songs... Songs are blind tested online by Promosquad using multiple listens and a nationwide sample of carefully profiled music consumers. Songs are rated on a 1-5 scale; final results are based on weighted positives. Songs with a score of 65 or more are judged to have Hit potential, although that benchmark number can fluctuate per format based on the strength of available music. Songs are ranked based on airplay detections according to data provided weekly by Broadcast Data Systems. PromoSquad is a trademark of Think Fast LLC.

Seems like this is the place to post this. Does the free Mediabase account still exist? I don't think it does, but someone told me it does. If it does, what's the login?

Took me six months to realize this was here! LOL! And yeah, like it states, I have no idea if that's what makes a song go gold or not. I was guessing because that seemed to be a little trend I noticed. I wish Mediabase would let us know their criteria for a gold song.

I was guessing because that seemed to be a little trend I noticed. I wish Mediabase would let us know their criteria for a gold song. It seems to be about two years of age, but they seem to only move songs from recurrent to gold twice-yearly. I don't think there's a strict rule though.

Even though I've been following music charts since the mid 80s, I had never gotten into the details of airplay until recently thanks to this forum. Hopefully somebody can help me understand the following. For months and months I keep seeing things like this:
46 40 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 871 521 350 1.967 47 40 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 929 573 356 2.064
I always forget to ask about it, but last night I found this example. These posts were made the same day or perhaps with one-day difference. How can a song move from 46 to 40 and also from 47 to 40?
Thanks!

Cariitoz, we just need to keep in mind that these snapshots refer to weekly moves, so we are comparing the picture of what happened on, for example, today vs. last Sunday. In the case of Niflope, the stats you showed correspond to Oct. 5 and 6, so the second number refers to Last Week's position, i.e., Sept. 28 and 29. This is what happened both days:
09/28 46 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 520 74 446 1.326 09/28 47 FLO RIDA Good Feeling 520 168 352 1.740
09/29 46 FLO RIDA Good Feeling 580 213 367 2.172 09/29 47 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 572 132 440 1.402
FR passed NS and made her lose one position for that day. Actually Nicole passed Flo Rida the next day but was passed again by Flo on October 2nd. This is Nicole's story for those days 09/30 44 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 625 195 430 1.577 10/01 43 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 674 252 422 1.593 10/02 44 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 720 312 408 1.715 10/03 41 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 755 377 378 1.819 10/04 41 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 813 447 366 1.873 10/05 40 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 871 521 350 1.967 10/06 40 NICOLE SCHERZINGER Don't Hold Your Breath 929 573 356 2.064

The 8th Day Update - When a song that experienced a huge first-day spin total experiences a temporary "loss" of spins in the weekly trend (usually a negative week-to-week update). Often results in people flipping their wigs for seven days until a more normalized spin update is experienced again. In 100% of the cases, the song doesn't peak on the 8th day no matter what might be said by supposed soothsayers.
Examples: Lady GaGa - Born This Way Rihanna - You Da One Madonna - Give Me All Your Luvin' Katy Perry - Part Of Me

Question: would it be possible to request a song to CHR to go for adds?

Question: would it be possible to request a song to CHR to go for adds? Not that I know of. The closest you could get is requesting the song on individual stations and trying to get it into any listener surveys or listener-voted countdowns they may have, but I don't think you can do anything more, unless you were a label insider of some kind (which I assume you aren't).

Hey!
So i'm new to here and I thought this thread was very clear and exactly what I needed. But I have a question;
Example, in the rita ora thread someone posted this:
22 21 RITA ORA I Will Never Let You Down 3394 3158 236 15.323
+74 Spins +18 Bullet +0.480 Audience
Now I thought that spins were the difference between this week and last week, so +236. However, here is says +74. What am I not getting? Same for bullet, I thought a bullet was the increase of spins, so again +236. Could someone explain this to me please?
Thank you.

The +74 Spins, +18 Bullet and +.480 AI below the line is the change from yesterday. You are correct about the +236 being from last week, users just post the other numbers below for even more detail in the spin changes.
