Some of you people were saying it was over. LOL! This song will be a HUGE hit! It's neither over nor will it be a huge hit.

I know it is one update, but I never thought this song was dead. It is a very slow climber.

Hope it's a good sign, what was the update last wednesday? If it was a negative one, I'd be less optimistic, but if it was positive it could be a good sign.

/Z100 played Katy's demo version this morning and everyone loved it, no one said more than Kelly's but I'm frankly shocked that they thought it was even listenable LOL.

Nothing really "matters," I just found it interesting that they liked it. Thats all.

This song will not be huge. Amy did the same thing and look what happened to it. It stalled and even with some random great updates, it peaked (unofficially) at #6. Once this has a week of steady updates (at least all + spin movements) then it proves this is getting a second wind.
EDIT: My bad, I meant to say that Amy had higher spins at #8, but for some reason that was posted instead.

I continue to pray everyday that this thing will pick up in digital sales. At this point I would be happy if it just stuck itself inside the top 20 and stayed there. I don't see it suddenly flying into the top 10, I think it would have done that already if it was going to. If it can somehow claw its way to top 5 on CHR then I think it will have enough AI's to get the downloads to get into the top 20. A big awards show performance or something might be the boost it needs as well. Only time will tell. :)

I don't think this will suddenly start smashing album or digital sales which concerns me a lot more than it getting a peak a few spots higher. Outside of Pulse, peaking at 8 versus 6 is not really a massive unbelievable difference.

Her management put out the right record but forgot to do a little image and PR work. MD didn't make much of a splash in the general public's perception, and in pop years Breakaway was a lifetime ago. Considering all of that, I don't think she doing too bad, but I'd have never guessed this was possibly gonna sell less than MD....EVER!

Already Gone is going to be the AC hit that propels sales far better than IDNHU has thus far. Not to mention we still have the holiday shopping season.

I just don't think this song has universal appeal whatsoever. Look at how well BEP have been doing with BBP. Both males and females like it, dance to it at clubs, etc. It's a cool songs to sing and dance to.
I think we must admit the fact that the "goody two shoes" message in the song is really not embraced too much by the general population. I think DJs overplaying it at first led to it getting as high. I cannot imagine a guy even requesting this song at all. If SUBG was labeled a "guilty pleasure", this song would be considered 20X guiltier.

I'm kind of with you there with the "goody two-shoes" theory. The song is both vocally and hook wise too strong to deny, so I think it might be the lyrics that are unrelatable or uncool to a lot of listeners. That's all I can come up with. I love the song. I still think it's going to rise some more in airplay, but I don't think the downloads are going to succeed. :(

the album sold 500K thanks to My lIfe (promo Jan-Mar) and lets guess another 100K due to IDNHU (Apr-Jun)....Already gone will hopefully give the album another 100K (July-Sept)..then holiday should give the album another 200K hopefully! The album in my opinion will end the year 2009 with 900-950K sold

Hooking up is very much a part of our everyday culture now. Even the video and Kelly's description of the song in interviews totally undercut the "I do not hook up" message, which I thought was a little weird. I mean, if you're going to put a single out there with a contrarian message, then at least have the guts to make the video and promo match the message.

I mean, if you're going to put a single out there with a contrarian message, then at least have the guts to make the video and promo match the message. I agree with what you're saying. IMO, the video did nothing for this song. A girl who only daydreams about hooking up but doesn't because she doesn't hook up? I think most girls would consider that "adorable", not "admirable". The video should have matched the tone of the song: Kelly pushing away drunk guys who want to hook up with her. Yes, it's obvious (as even Kelly said in interviews), but it matches the song perfectly. I think that would have had a stronger effect because she's actually choosing not to hook up as opposed to acting like a "goody two shoes" and only fantasizing about it. I won't even get started on the MLWSWY video and how much better that could have been...

i cannot believe people still aren't understanding the video. seriously? How can someone not understand the video ??? people are still saying "she's totally contradicting the meaning of the song," but in the video, she's clearly FANTASIZING about hooking up, but she doesn't actually hook up. at least that's what i'm getting out of people who say the video doesn't make sense, but i guess i could be missing something.

I don't get why the video and lyrics seem to confuse people either. Like, I even think the meaning of the SONG is getting confused.

This song won't be a huge hit, unless it gets a huge second/third wind. Other songs are going to bump it out of the Top 10.
