They are a Christian friendly band to me. Like, not Christian but fit in seamlessly with other Christian bands. That is not a bad thing or anything. They are a talented band and I don't quite get the comparisons to OneRepublic.

The Fray isn't exactly a Christian band, but members in the band are Christians, their second album was released in Christian bookstores, and "You Found Me" is being played on Christian radio. What i mean is the band isn't characterized as a "Christian band" like say, Skillet, Switchfoot, or Thousand Foot Krutch. By the way, I thought of another band that is kinda similar to The Fray. Five For Fighting. At least most of their soft songs, The Fray actually gets a little heavier than Five For Fighting does, and goes away from the piano into guitar a little bit, but when you think about it, they are kinda similar. Also, The Fray is nothing like OneRepublic in my opinion. The Fray would never collaborate with Timbaland. Ha. Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant.

Yeah completely agree...Fray and Five For Fighting are really similar...I think the main difference IMO is that both are kinda "intellectual" bands whereas One Republic uses really simple lyrics (at least in their singles)

I like Ryan Tedder's voice better, but The Fray's lyrics are better all around than OneRepublic's.
When does this song go for adds, was it ever even said?

I might like this better if we slept together.
I haven't heard it much, and while it seems like a nice enough song, it seems like an odd single choice, but since I haven't heard the rest of the album, I can't speak about it comparatively.

Confirmed. Going for adds May 19/20. I hope this song doesn't flop just because I love this band.

I still think this is far and away the most radio friendly song after YFM. If this flops, then YFM will be the only hit from the album, imo.

According to EW - Jaime King will be on their video for this as Isaac's love interest (set in the post apocalypse).

Well I've always thought their videos have kinda sucked, but that was pretty good. I've really got the feeling now that this is gonna be huge.

God, this is so repetitive and melodramatic. (Song and video)
It's been really disappointing for me to see The Fray release four piano ballads in a row. "Over My Head" and "How to Save a Life" were different enough in style that I didn't raise an eyebrow (and they were actually very good songs). But they passed over "She Is" (a good uptempo track) in favor of whatever that slow third single was that didn't do well, followed by these two, and now I've pretty much given up hope for them personally.

All At Once was their last single from the first album, and that was upbeat. They're a piano rock band though, which means the majority of their stuff is AC/soft rock sounding. I think the vast majority of their songs have a slow feel to them, that's just the kind of band they are. It's worked pretty well for them so far, with the exception of Look After You.

I suppose I missed that... but that just means it was a 4th single and was bound not to do all that well anyway. And I'm not knocking them for the style they choose to have - I mean, it's obviously working fairly well, so more power to them for that. It's more just personal disappointment that a band that had a lot of promise has turned in some bland stuff ever since (IMO).

^Def. agree about the Fray not mixin up their style, but to be fair IMO most of Britney and Beyonce's big hits have had dance beats - they do what they're good at, and I guess piano ballads are what the guy from the Fray is good at writin...
BTW Look After You did really well on Hot AC and Triple A (it def. wasn't a "wash" except on CHR)...also don't really think they have many upbeat tracks on their new CD to choose from (actually can't remember any upbeat tracks just from samplin songs on ITunes - wishin they had another Over My Head but assumin they don't...)

As I've said, this is the only hit after YFM on the album, imo. I also think this will be bigger than YFM, just like HTSAL was to OMH. But OMH was 100x a better song than HTSAL

Syndicate would still work. Give it a shot, Fray. Come on.

I liked How To Save a Life better.
I think How to Save a Life, Over My Head, and You Found Me all deserved to be released and become the big hits that they were. I do wish they would break formula at other times and try a more upbeat song though. They COULD have gone with a different song for the second single here. I hope it works out for them though.

Yeah, "How To Save A Life" is a lot better than "Over My Head." I still like OMH, but it's a little bland and the hook is a little weak. Anyway, back to this song, I really like it and I hope it goes at least Top 15 on Pop.

I think HTSAL was the bigger hit of the two. It just felt that way at the time... OMH got the Fray's foot in the Pop door, and HTSAL kicked the door down. That being said, I personally liked OMH way better.
And for me, OMH > HTSAL > You Found Me

I think Pop audiences are expecting something like this from The Fray. It should do decent. Anything other than a generic piano ballad at this point would flop because its just not their sound.

Def. agree just wonderin about the generic thing...IMO Just Dance was completely "generic" and it hit #1, and seems like Right Round is generic rap, Jordin Sparks is generic pop, Ne-Yo is generic R&B etc. - just seems like artists that have tracks you can't dance to can get called generic (just wonderin why...)
