This was sent out to radio today as Mac's first single for Show Dog. No add date is listed.

Should easily top Kenny's 9 mill or so in its debut week -- that'll be 4 superstar debuts in a row.

Zazie, this song WILL NOT top Kenny's 9 million debut. That's crazy talk.

I'm with Zazie on this one. It might even match Garth's "More Than A Memory" debut.

Zazie, this song WILL NOT top Kenny's 9 million debut. That's crazy talk. Oh come on. I've long since learned that there are times when Zazie should not be taken seriously. Maybe it's just easy for me to tell when he's joking, because he and I seem to be on the same wavelength a lot. I'm with Zazie on this one. It might even match Garth's "More Than A Memory" debut. ...and apparently, Rowdawg is joining us in the category "Pulse members who are little left of center".

Lets hope that Mac does better than Tim Rushlow did on Show Dog.

I certainly hope Mac does well and the label does have some interesting acts out there but I don't hold my breath. It did occur to me that Zazie was being sarcastic but possibly maybe not.

Mac is someone I like a lot -- plus he sings on the duet (not Down The Road, though) that is my all-time favorite country song. I was not trying to make light of Mac's chart prospects -- I was just having fun pretending he was the reason, and not Chesney, for the big success of Down The Road. Wouldn't that be nice, if it were true -- but obviously there's going to be a bit of a chart dropoff for Mac without his superstar buddy.
Did not mean to hijack the thread with my goofiness.

Assuming that WQYK/Tampa doesn't spin this 125 times in its opening week a la 'MTAM', Mr. Chesney will have one less song to worry about enroute to the top five.

Why do so many artists even try to make it on his label - and how does Toby ever make any money on them when the songs don't even hit the top 40?

Maybe they just don't realize that he virtually ignores any act on his label not named Toby Keith? (Also, can you explain how a #42 was NOT good enough for Rushlow Harris to get their album out, but a #47 was good enough for Flynnville Train?)

(Also, can you explain how a #42 was NOT good enough for Rushlow Harris to get their album out, but a #47 was good enough for Flynnville Train?) I'm getting off the topic here, and I apologize for that, but... Tim Rushlow has really had some crummy luck and poor promotion ever since (the original) Little Texas disbanded. Let's take a look at that timeline: - 1997: He goes solo and signs with Atlantic... "She Misses Him" is a hit and goes top 10.... Label folds soon thereafter. - 2002: Forms the band Rushlow and signs with Lyric Street... "I Can't Be Your Friend" is a hit and goes top 15... Label waits seemingly 20 years to release a follow-up... Follow-up flops... Label drops them without ever releasing anything else. - 2006: Forms the duo Rushlow Harris and signs with Show Dog... gets little promotion... dropped from label, no album released. It's a shame, really. Tim's still an excellent vocalist, with his strength probably being the frontman for a band. But, given what has happened to him over the last 10+ years, is there any way he'll ever see airtime on country radio again? Unfortunately, I would have to say no. Again, it's a shame.

Actually with his own success, Toby can sign acts that are non-traditional for current radio and Nashville trends without worrying about his label's finances. That's pretty remarkable, if you ask me. And, one of these days, he'll break one of those acts and reap the benefits.

I'm one of Tim Rushlow's biggest fans, and I couldn't agree more - it really is a shame. His self titled album was absolutely amazing, and his "Right Now" album was awesome and right up there close to his first CD. I don't understand why Rushlow/Harris never got an album release when they had TWO hit singles. I'm not sure how high their first one went, but "Bagpipes Cryin'" was a great song - and probably would be a #1 hit if it were released by Toby himself. My only hope is that Tim gets one last break, and can find himself on a good record label. Could he re-release some of those amazing songs off his prior albums?

My initial thought after a few listens... The lyrics are predictable, and the vocals certainly aren't outstanding.

I haven't heard this but I saw a picture of Mac the other day and he is a mess. He definitely needs to pick up his image if he wants to fit in with the newbies. He's always looked like that, at least since the 1990s.
