OMG is it me or is "Masquerade" a carbon copy of Tokio Hotel's "Monsoon?" I swear it's the same song practically.

#2 On itunes :o Yeah!!! I'm very proud of the Backstreet boys! they are legend! :) I love their new album, but my favorite is 'Helpless' f. Pitbull :) and I noticed on itunes, that 'Helpless' is the most popular song of the cd on itunes! i don't know why Jive didn't include it in the normal album? >:( Pitbull is very popular right now, his music is heard world wide, 'Helpless' sounds better than Bigger in my opinion. :) But anyway, hopefully the people from Jive change their mind and decide to release 'Helpless' as future single! P.S: I hope Brian gets well soon! Go BSB! :)

^ Poor Brian. :(
I'm so upset... I can't afford the album right now! I will get it maybe next week if I can... listening to the tracks on the net, i doubt I will like it as much as the last 2. I REALLY loved the AC sound, as much as they flopped with that sound. I'm just not a big fan of them doing dance tracks anymore. AJ used to sound so great and soulful on party trakcs, but his voice is all smoked out now. Nick has also changed and doesn't sound so good on dance songs. Brian is the only one whose vocals are suited for this. I will have to stream the album more and figure out how I really feel about it. Anyway, I hope it at sells as much as Unbrekable in the US.

Unbreakable (2007) USA : 200.000 Canada: 50.000 Japan : 400.000 Europe : 200.000 Estimations total : 1.300.000 1.3 million wordwide is not bad, all things considrered. NKOTB sold 250k in the US and 450k worldwide... but BSB is still doing ok worldwide and can still play arenas, so its all good. :)

All Music Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Since their mid-2000s reunion, the Backstreet Boys have been acting like adults so it's not entirely a surprise that they've decided to shake things up on This Is Us, their third album of the comeback and second since becoming a quartet. Teaming up once again with Max Martin and working with a host of modern hitmakers as RedOne, the group takes a left turn back toward the rhythm-heavy, harmony-laden dance-pop that made their reputation a decade before. Never mind the name of the album — the group is tellingly quite willing to fade into background, letting the producers do their work, just content to sing the hooks. It's a sharp move in two ways: BSB never had as much on-record charisma as *NSync, their best trait was how they could sell a hook without affect, and that returns here. Of course, it helps that they have a bunch of hooks here, too — hooks that aren't quite as galvanizing as "I Want It That Way," but easily eclipsing those on the pedestrian Unbreakable, helping the band seem modern without seeming pandering. It's a move that the New Kids on the Block couldn't pull off on their tawdry, sex-obsessed comeback, and it's one that the Backstreets seemed incapable of doing just a few years ago, but on This Is Us, the group sounds great for their age, and they sound like they're at their peak — which is no guarantee of a hit, but it sure makes for a better album than they've produced in quite a while.

The album is decent, however I wouldn't be surprised if Jive drops them after this. Straight Through My Heart was their best chance for a hit, and it failed miserably. Maybe Shattered could have been a hit a few years ago.

^ Well, there is nothing they can do. The song was catchy and current. Radio just won't play them because of the stigma. :(
I think I really like this album... it is still growing on me. I really like Bigger and All of Your Life. I HATE PDA. But I need more time. Everytime I try to get through it, I just end up playing one of their older albums... I always do this. It will take me at least 2 months to get used to this album and play it regularly.

I hope they continue making records after this, maybe someone like CherryTree Records or somewhere smaller but with budget would work for them currently.

They will probably be dropped after this... I don't care. I hope they will continue to make music, their new album is really great, I love BSB. I hope they come to my area for this tour. :)

Wow...they went from selling 14 million albums at a time to not even 100k? That's sad. And extremely embarrassing.

How is it doing overseas though? Isn't that where they can still move albums? ???
And I think Straight Through My Heart was a horrible first single choice. It was safe and nothing spectacular at all. It should've been Bye Bye Love.

I finally took a listen to this album and was surprised at how mainstream it sounded (especially the Timbaland/Justin Timberlake sounding "Bye Bye Love"). I thought I was gonna love the album, but halfway through (I think once it hit "PDA") I stopped liking what I was hearing.
Saw the music video for "Bigger" the other day on Music Choice, which is what reminded me of this album.

I've always thought about getting this album, but it's a shame the song with Pitbull isn't included on the physical release. But third single? I never knew they had a second off the album.

How much has this album sold in the states and ww? On another note album sales are at there poorest state, they don't have a radio hit or hit single, or did'nt with this era, and their album kinda just was thrown out there. They still have a fanbase, they just need to be promoted more and need a huge hit single.
