Lindsay's first album sold about 1.5 million copies; her second, over 500k. And her most recent single ('Bossy') topped the dance charts last year. I'd say her music has been fairly successful. Inflated numbers. Unless you're talking worldwide. After all, ALMP barely cracked 300k in the US when it toppled off the charts. Yeah, I was talking worldwide.

Demi should definatley be on a label like Jive. I don't think Miley belongs on HR anymore either, she should be doing stuff with Lyric Street country's a better genre for her. Demi needs to be on a label that will let her do her own music, disney won't let her release a lot of her own stuff.
Disney I think realized or they should realize that Demi and Selena aren't going to replace her. They need another little 11 year old girl like Miley or Hilary's age when they started that will be there for a long time. Miley will have been at disney probably 6 years by the time shes dones with them, Demi and Selena won't be doing that.
and is it me or does this not have the buzz that burning up had??? It will for sure go top 10 on iTunes but I wonder if they're capable of going top 10 on the hot 100 based off sales alone for next week. Didn't they do that with one of the songs on A little bit longer?

The Jonas Brothers are slowly meeting their demise and will crash and burn. Nobody cares about them anymore. I couldn't believe they were creating a new album, when the last one feels like it came out 9 months ago.
Stop trying to pull the Rihanna shit.

I realize thats what they're doing, which is why saying the qoute I'm posting made no sense but they did say it. and her songs are not choosen for her(hannah stuff and movie songs (except don't walk away) not included, she writes them if they sound country its becasue thats how she wants them to be. Plus her voice has a country natural twang, if they don't edit her voice to death(which they didn't on breakout) then the songs will sound country no matter what. The person who said this is Walt Disney Records' senior vice president: www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-cotown-music2-2009apr02,0,2835385.story "The Climb" may indicate that Cyrus could see some success as a country artist. The song has sold 583,000 digital downloads since its release in early March. It's her first solo single to breach the top 50 on Billboard's country songs chart, and it has given Cyrus her highest position on the U.S. pop chart, where it debuted at No. 6 and currently rests at No. 11. Repositioning Cyrus as a country singer is not Disney's intention, Weatherson said. "I think Miley has a heck of a career right now, whichever direction she wants to take it," he said. "All of her stuff to date, including this song, are pop-driven. I think you'll see that moving forward. This is just one of those songs everyone can relate to, and country radio gravitated toward it."and I never said most don't last but if you look at the ones that do its more often then not the solo artists not the boybands. If NKOTB had been trying to stay big this entire time they wouldn't have done well. JB's are like another version of Hanson, except Hanson was better. lol your proof is hilarious. In no way is the senior Vice President of Hollywood Records saying that they are ABSOLUTELY against letting Miley do country. They classify her music as still pop. :) I think the only Disney act that Hollywood ever actually had in a top spot is Hilary Duff. Even Miley Cyrus as an artist has suffered to not being promoted like dropping a single 8 years after See You Again did its own thing by becoming a success. Vanessa, Corbin, Mitchel Musso, Demi all get crap promotion. You see Demi as a bit higher just because she has a tv show right now and Camp Rock most likely. Definitely dislike this new Jonas song. It is boring. I enjoyed stuff from their first album and Burning Up -- but it is clear now they are just cashing in ASAP since the 3D movie bombed and now their TV show was already beat by episodes of Hannah Montana, Sonny With A Chance, and even the Fairy Odd Parents on Nickelodeon. Not to mention iCarly the #1 program of all the Nick & Disney shows. & yeah Hilary was top tier during her debut album. At the time of her sophomore album, she did about 5 or 6 TV appearances promoting her album & RYV. Then her album was left to die on it's own. She then got a shitload of promotion for whatever reason for "Most Wanted," much more than she got for "Dignity." Vanessa's main problem isn't the promotion. It's that she's given such crap to work with solo. I mean, wtf was up with Sneakernight? The whole Identified album was a mess! Demi definitely has the most potential, and I'd really like to see Hollywood push her. They're probably afraid she'll take spotlight away from Miley. It's not Hollywood's fault that Vanessa's interest in her music career is limited to none at all. Demi definitely has incredible potential & she's making the music she wants to so I'm not understanding all these wild accusations of her not making music she wants to make. Vanessa's main problem is def. promotion. She proved with her first album that she can put up decent #'s and that radio was willing to play her. The album sold 570k and CBTM peaked #18 on top 40 radio. "Say OK" could have been a hit but they just sent it for adds without doing any promo not to mention the bad timing in which it was released (while she was shooting HSM2) but even though it flopped it remains a fan favorite with the music video one of the most watched on youtube with over 50 million views. And yes "Sneakernight" was a mess but the only reason why it was even chosen as the first single was to save HR money. If you hadn't noticed the video doubles as a commercial for Ecko Red's shoe line which V endorses. Marc Ecko financed that entire video, HR didn't pay a cent. The 'Identified' album had waaaay better songs & ones that could have worked well as singles ("Identified", "First Bad Habit", "Hook It Up", "Amazed" & "Don't Leave). If Vanessa was given the promotion that say Jesse McCartney is given (even though his album continues to flop he gets loads of promo) she could have put up better #'s. Even with the floppy mess that was "Sneakernight" 'Identified' was catching up to 'Departure' 's sales when it was charting. Most of those sales were also from 2006 - early 2007, when albums could be expected to sell around that #. Not to mention she was coming off of HSM. Anyone believing she'd sell that much the last time around, even with a shitload of promotion would be fooling themselves. As for Vanessa--she pretty much didn't exist in any world that I knew about other than HSM. Maybe people can make a case for her being 2nd tier but she really did get crappy promotion. That she achieved one top 20 on CHR is probably despite all that. She got no major tour, she got no movie other than HSM sequels. I'm not sure what Hollywood has really done for her other than pump out some albums and make a few videos. As So Uncool stated, it was not HR's job to get her movie deals. Besides, the HSM sequels & HSM TOUR took up most of her time if I remember correctly. Not only was there not enough demand for a full Vanessa tour, there just wasn't time. The Jonas Brothers are slowly meeting their demise and will crash and burn. Nobody cares about them anymore. I couldn't believe they were creating a new album, when the last one feels like it came out 9 months ago. Stop trying to pull the Rihanna s**t. 800k tickets were sold on the first weekend of their latest tour dates release. Try again.

Um he was specifically asked if they were trying to make her more country and he said they weren't that. He said that a song that absolutely is more country then it is pop, that was written by country songwriters was pop and not at all country. They country thing isn't coming from disney, its coming from her and her management.
and actually its not wrong to say that the hype around the Jonas Brothers is dying, it is. There was so much hype around burning up. even four months ago there was a lot more hype then there is right now. the movie and tv show failing shouldn't effect the hype around their music but it seems that it has.

Reread what that poster said. "Nobody cares about them anymore." The over a million people who bought tickets for their concert beg to differ. Such a bold comment is not only inaccurate, but laughable. About what the senior VP said, he clearly stated that they weren't making her a country artist not, "oMg LyK3 wE r ToTaLlY aGaInSt HeR eVeR sWiTcHiNg 2 CoUnTrY11!!" There is nothing in what he said, that gives that kind of indication. And who said that the Jonas Brothers current hype wasn't at a low? I know I didn't. L.M.A.O. Hype isn't always constant. Just as there were a few months last year & early this year when your darling Miley wasn't everywhere. :) I'm pretty sure Hollywood & Disney have FINALLY become aware of the overexposure in the past few months & that's why they're starting off slower this time around. It was very irritating to see them so much in February. They took it too far.

Any of the Disney chicks have a better chance of sticking around (in one way or another) than Jonas.
If they can still sell out the arenas like that in one year's time then you may wave your finger at me and say "I told ya so!"

I do think the Jonas Brothers are fading away, but not as fast as many of the people here think. They won't be able to sell that 800,000 tickets nor come close. If anything 500,000 would be a big number for this Era I think. Though there will be more Jonas for a while... there's no doubt about that.
BTW: I doubt it will happen, almost 100% sure it wont, but if this is the song that takes BEP off the top spot, I'll be pissed.

I definitely didn't say that they would be doing 800k in their first weekend next year, or for years to come. I'm just saying that at the present, they are clearly not over. Paranoid is now #2 on iTunes.

Oh yeah, right now they aren't "over". But the slip has already begun. According to that philosophy, The "slip" has also begun for many other artists. Britney Spears, (I mean IUSA hasn't reached #1 yet like her past two singles, she's slipping!) Kelly Clarkson (Her album hasn't sold as much as "My December" yet!), etc.

I think we'll see if they are 'slipping' or 'over' in the next couple of months, when their album comes out, their tour starts and etc. As for the future and when they'll become irrelevant, none of us know that.
But ANYWAY this will probably be #1 on itunes before the day is over. I wonder how long it can stay there though..

There aren't as much girls going crazy for the JoBros like there were last year. Not as many people are talking about them. I haven't heard a big buzz for their new TV Show (but then again, I hardly watch TV or gossip shows or gossip sites so IDK), but before I would turn tv on and somehow they managed to get there.

Jonas Brothers are not Britney/Kelly. They are Hanson/BSB/Nsync type deal.
Joe should go solo after this and melt that purity ring for the chicks.

I saw them at a department store called "TopMan" in London on Wednesday. I was waiting for my family since they were in another store, and then Joe came up the escalator and I thought "that kind of looks like Joe Jonas..." and then the other two walked up, along with who I can assume is their manager and their big ass bodyguard. I didn't really care much, but when my sister came she wanted to get a picture. So she went up and asked, they ignored her and kept walking, and their bodyguard told her no. So I decided they were douchebags. As they were going down the escalators I screamed "TEAM TAYLOR SWIFT!" and then took a picture of their reactions. Joe shook his head and looked away, Kevin glared at me and Nick actually kind of smiled.

I can't go anywhere online without seeing their huge poster for their new song on itunes. It's nowhere near the power of idol, but they're expecting tweens who go online to buy their song. Their online adds make it almost impossible for any tween to not know they have a new song. Once the video is out they'll probably do more mainstream media promo. BTW it's down to #24
