Ouch, that's two singles now that have had bad timing. "Waitin' on Obama" was practically meant to be a short-lived song, and this one doesn't stand a chance, since it's been over a year after Garth's shinty-sixth comeback; also, the song that it spoofs, which was hardly a big hit, is long since forgotten. It could get some airplay just based on B&D being featured on it (my guess: 99.999999% Ronnie), but that could be about it.

I agree that this is not a big hit as to cover it, but I just love that he went with the Garth topic. Can't wait to hear it.

And I think I read he also has a "I Saw Garth Today" parody on his latest album as well. Betting he wasn't able to get George to lend his vocals, though...

I remember B&D discussing God Must Be Busy when they recorded the song and how great it was. I always thought it was a good song but most folks didn't really listen to it all the way through and just heard the title and didn't like it. Now Ronnie goes and does this parody of what they considerd a great song. It dosen't make much sense. I understand the genre of parody songs and actually enjoyed Weired Al back in the day, but I don't remember any of his songs featuring the original artist. Just my little rant.

I understand the genre of parody songs and actually enjoyed Weired Al back in the day, but I don't remember any of his songs featuring the original artist. On Weird Al Yankovic's parody of the Dire Straits' hit Money For Nothing, titled Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies (on the 1989 UHF movie soundtrack album), he had two members of the Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler and Guy Fletcher, play guitar and synthesizer on the track. They didn't contribute vocals, but that's the closest he's had the original artists making contributions. Uh... and I had a friend of mine tell me about that. That's where I heard it. Yeah, that's the ticket...!

And Cledus has done it a few times as well. I know Brad Paisley played guitar on Judd's parody of "Me Neither" (titled "More Beaver"… get your minds out of the gutter), Phil Vassar made a spoken word cameo on the parody of "Just Another Day in Paradise", and of course, Toby Keith's guest appearance on "I Love NASCAR".

I'm usually put off by ol' Cledus but this one's funny and, for some reason, it struck me as sweet. Not his usual style, and Ronnie's vocals really help. (Happy Birthday, Ronnie.)
The only other Cledus T song I have liked as much as Busy is Bake Me A Country Ham. I admit there are some Weird Al songs I like, but Jonsolo already knows that.

I agree with Zazie. This one seems more good natured than his last few parodies. I wonder if that'll help it any.
