I thought it would be a good idea to share the rare ocurrences that your chart has seen throughout the years. Here are some of mine:
1. Biggest move to number one:
Third place: 98º "The Hardest Thing" moved 35-1 in 1999.
Second place: Keri Hilson & Ne-Yo Featuring Kanye West "Knock You Down" moved 42-1 earlier this year.
First place: Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z "Umbrella" moved 61-1 in 2007.
2. Biggest drop from number one:
Celine Dion "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" dropped 1-21 in 1991.
3. Year with the most number ones:
1989 - There was a whopping 48 number one songs that year. The only number one with multiple weeks was Debbie Gibson's "We Could Be Together," which reigned for 4 weeks.
4. Year with the fewest number ones:
1998 - There were just 5 number ones that year.
5. First song ever to make its Hot 100 debut inside the Top 10:
Fleetwood Mac's "Seven Wonders," which debuted at number 7 and spent... 7! weeks at number one.
6. Number one song that spent the fewest weeks in the Hot 100.
Pebbles' "Always." It only spent 6 weeks on the Hot 100.
7. Most recent song to debut at number 100 but later made it all the way to the top:
Mya's "Case Of The Ex (Whatcha Gonna Do)" back in 2001.
8. First song to hit number one, drop and return to the top:
A'me Lorain's "Whole Wide World" in 1990.
9. First number one single EVER!
Janet Jackson "When I Think Of You" in January 1987.
10. Only acts to hit number one in the 80s, 90s and 00s:

Mariah Carey hit number one in 1994 with "Any Time You Need A Friend" and then back in 2005 with "We Belong Together," so she has a 10 year, 8 month gap.
