Just an FYI they are screwing Nick Lachey over right now. I wouldn't be so quick to be excited about Jive. Their babies are Britney and Justin Timberlake. I think among the three choices, Jive, RCA and Arista - Jive is definitely the best choice. RCA and Arista screwed over a lot of Idols.

Even if he did Pop/Rock with a Country flavor.. what is this Country flavor? I don't think he should go Country at all. With all his singer-songwriter tunes I can see them trying to get some Country spins, but Country doesn't usually play artists that don't label themselves as Country. Am I wrong about that? I would like him to work with Kanye though. I think he is versatile enough to do a cool Pop/Rock. Ryan Tedder would be a dream with him. Kris will be working with Kara right? I've pin-pointed down what kind of album I want from him: Pop/Rock tinged with Soul. Sort of like if Jason Mraz, John Mayer and Robin Thicke were one person. If he just shamelessly hops onto the country bandwagon and be marketed as the male Taylor Swift, then I'm definitely done with him. If he wants to differentiate himself from the pop singer-songwriter pack, one possible option is to add a little touch of americana into his music, ala Ryan Adams. That field hasn't been over-explored yet, I think.

I hope he stays awaaaay from Ryan Tedder. How come? I don't want Ryan to give Kris the kind of stuff he gave Kelly, Jordin, Beyonce and Leona. More like the OneRepublic stuff. It fits the style Kris wants to do. Ryan Tedder produced most of Blake Lewis' debut album.

Just an FYI they are screwing Nick Lachey over right now. I wouldn't be so quick to be excited about Jive. Their babies are Britney and Justin Timberlake. Jive rarely screws over anyone though, they have a much higher success rate than RCA and Artista and a much lower complete failure rate than them. And he is definitely not going the country route, especially if he's with Jive ??? The only thing I'd be worried about with Jive is that they don't try to force him into being a "pop" star or anything but I don't think they will.

I hope he stays awaaaay from Ryan Tedder. Same. If he doesn't release a Ryan single he'll be badmouthed in a random country. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Not only that, all his songs sound exactly the same now. The only thing I'd be worried about with Jive is that they don't try to force him into being a "pop" star or anything but I don't think they will. Yeah me too. I'd be worried about that with Jive.

LOL, why does everyone have beef with Ryan Tedder all of the sudden? I get the whole everything sounds the same comment, but that's not the sound I'm talking about. I would hate if he did that.
After hearing Kris sing "Apologize" I think it would work.
If my suggestion isn't good enough for you folks ::hmmph:: who would you have him work with?

And about the screwing over Nick Lachey... it's Nick Lachey... seriously? Well Jive really messed up JC Chasez too, but same difference I guess. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif) Ryan Tedder's productions tend to be pretty heavy, not sure that's a great fit, although I do think Kris sang "Apologize" better than Ryan does it live. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

I think Jive would be a good fit.....compared to the other two choices.
No to the pop/ country route that is for sure. That is definitely not who he is as an artist. it would be more like Ryan Adams I would think than a Keith Urban. That alt/country, folk vibe.
Just don't want to hear drum machines and overproduced crap...so Ryan Tedder must stay away.
Possibly the guy from Once? Glen, I thnk, from the Frames?? That would be cool.

That field hasn't been over-explored yet, I think. Hold up. I never said he should do straight up country. I'm just saying that a more country sound is not that big of a stretch for him. This is an age where the lines between genres are seriously blurry. Everyone is pop anyway. And pop artists put country-esque songs on their album. Kelly's "Cry" is quite county, isn't it? And "To Be With You" on David A's album also sounds like a country song. Ad I ask again. Is threre really that much of a difference- structurally- betweenTaylor Swift's and Jack Johnson's songs? Not really. Country isn't that much of a stretch for Kris. He's from Arkansas, and I'm sure he could have a twang if he wanted to- Kelly has a twang on some of her songs, when she chooses to. I'm not saying he should become a young Tim McGraw. I just think he should have the country market in mind when he makes this album. I, for one, think Kelly and David missed some opportunities by not releasing those songs. I'm still crossing my fingers for a "Cry" release. I'm just hoping Jive handles him well. I think jive is better than RCA, but 19Evil is still going to be managing him, right? And I don't know. They really seem to have wanted Adam to win, and if they're managing Adam as well... You know how they were with Clay.I just hope he does well, so they treat him well. They only help people who sell really well. I doubt they would've given Cook so much if he didn't sell so well right out of the bat. If Kris doesn't do too well right away, I know they'll totally treat him like shyte.

Ever since Clay sued out of his 19 management contract because of conflict of interest with Ruben, 19 has only signed one Idol a year. So if they sign Adam, most likely Kris is free to seek his own management.

So if they sign Adam, most likely Kris is free to seek his own management. Didn't they sign both Chris and Kellie from season 5? And they also signed both Jordin and Blake. I know they didn't sign Diana and Archie. I'm not sure about Bo. But I think it's more like when someone underperforms, they drop them. Or if they don't want you, they pass you up, like Diana and Archie. So they definitely sign more than one. I want them to sign only one, because they've never successfully managed both a winner and runner-up. If they sign only Kris, he'll get to perform at least twice next season, and that's always a good thing. But if they also sign Adam, I don't know if they'll be working in Kris' best interest.

I think Kris has made it clear he is not doing country. He did not request to sing with Keith Urban- Idol paired them up and his comments about it seemed indifferent to me about it- he seemed to stress that just because they sang together does not mean he has any interest in going country and in fact, would not like to do so.
As an Adam fan, I wish they would just drop all the "fishy results" talk. What good does it do? Nothing- Kris won and that's that.

I don't know the NY Times is reporting the same thing. ATT tried to cover it up by demanding the small news station that first broke the story take the story down.

www.okmagazine.com/news/view/14498QUOTE OK!: Are their past winners you want to model your career after, like Daughtry, who has an amazing rock career? I’ve actually talked to him a lot and we’ve become pretty good friends and he got fourth place and he’s one of the biggest Idols that there are. And he’s sold so many albums, and he’s come a long way and someone that’s stayed true to himself, for sure and that’s what I hope to do, with everything that I do. It’s worked out well for him. Good article. :)

Maybe it's because country is my favorite genre, so I'm kinda sensitive when it comes down to it. I'm sorry, but all the songs that you mentioned, are not country to me. It's just that mainstream country nowadays doesn't even seem to understand what "country" is anymore, so any pop song with a splash of banjo in it can pass for a country song (heck, sometimes even without any). Anyway, rant over. I agree with the suggestion that has him work with Glen Hansard from "Once". After all Kris did wonders with "Falling Slowly". Something in the vein of "When Your Mind's Made Up" would make me happy.

Someone already pointed out that Kris would've won anyway because it would've only counted for less than 100,000 votes. They also said that since there were 100 million votes even if those alleged ATT votes were 500,000 it would've only been .5% of the actual total. And since sources say Kris won by a sizeable about. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. I'd post a link to the article, but I don't remember exactly where I read it.

I, for one, think Kelly and David missed some opportunities by not releasing those songs. I'm still crossing my fingers for a "Cry" release. But would country even play them if they were released? No one seems to be able to answer my questions regarding country. Do they usually play non-country artists with "country" songs? If so, which was the last? Someone also mentioned a folk vibe? WTF did that come from? That is not the way to go. I'd rather him go all straight up country honky tonk on me. And my last rant on Ryan Tedder (!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.) Not all his work is overproduced!!!!!! That's like saying Kayne West can't do anything else but Hip-Hop.

He was charming as usual on Jimmy Fallon. He also whipped out the guitar and sang "Heartless". It was really good. Video should be up soon.

Kris had an interview (about the textgate) together with Adam on Today Show. He performed No Boundaries and Heartless. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/30978875#30981087(yeah and any bitter Adam fans out there need to listen to him. Stop being so dramatic. Move on already lol)
