Yeah for awhile I was really sick of BHC, but now all of a sudden I can appreciate it again.

Thanks Vinman. I hadn't heard that one. Carrie's view of life and faith is refreshing and honest.
Carrie just blogged at the fc. I am really looking foward to the next album.

Yeah it was funny how she read the "Is Carrie Performing at the CMAs" thread right around the time of the blog, and she mentioned every confirmed event she will be at, but didn't mention if she is performing. lol So to me, her silence says something, anyway. I think she would have put us out of our misery by now if she were not performing.. (crosses fingers)*

Man, that FC party sounds fun this year. Again, I can't go for various reasons but hope for a full review by you all that are going. (hint)

Why wouldn't she perform at the CMAs? lol CMA Fest, not CMA Awards. Tee, I hope she performs, but using expressio unius est exclusio alterius (whatever is omitted is understood to be excluded), if Carrie specifically listed the events she's doing and excluded performing at the CMA Fest, then maybe she's not. Just being a devil's advocate here and good-naturedly using your logic ("her silence says something") to show the opposite view I do hope she performs especially for all those fans who bought tickets wanting to see her and because it's tradition already that she performs at the CMA Fest every year. But if not, off she goes to Mommy Carole. Man, that FC party sounds fun this year. Again, I can't go for various reasons but hope for a full review by you all that are going. (hint) Yeah, I know! I'm so jealous! Is video-taking really not allowed? I feel like sulking because I really want videos. I guess audio will do (ahem, jeff?)

Interesting article in The Washington Post about country music abroad: Country artists try to build their base abroad. It also mentions that 10% of Carrie's total sales last year was international. I can personally testify to the lack of presence country music has in the Philippines. There's no country music station, country artists are not known at all and the few who were/are able to make an impression, are not classified as country but pop -- Shania, Faith, Leann and now Taylor (whose CD is classified as pop/rock). There are interesting perspectives featured in the article, like this one:

i dont think video taking has ever been specifically not allowed, but we were told in previous years at the party that videos of it shouldn't be popping up on places like YT

I thought one of the mods posted something about no video taking this year, but Camera work allowed. It's hard to kind of enforce now because today's cameras take videos and unless they are watching like a hawk.
Also, the policy may have been altered this year due to some FC members over indulgence of posting such vids publicly via YT.

Yeah, it'd be nice if a few artists (preferably Reba and Carrie) came to Italy. As an aside, I have three co-workers (even here in Italy) who are from the Phillippines.

I was in Las Vegas this past week and heard "Home Sweet Home" twice. It was sort of odd because I had never heard it anywhere but the show and my iPod. The first time was in a casino, and then I it was played on the hotel TV station.

Do you guys think that Carrie's next tour, in 2010, will include international venues finally? (outside of Canada, I mean- lol)
She did mention in a few interviews that it is going to be HUGE... so I am hoping she meant, a worldwide tour.
I wish someone would ask Carrie this at the fanclub party... Then again, she might not be able to answer yet.

The FC party is under way. One of the members are posting pics they took of Carrie's outfits and awards on display from the FC party. Interesting!

Those display cases with Carrie's outfits (+pics where she wore them) and some awards (+the EOTY envelope) definitely look cool! It's like a Carrie museum! Clothes from the BHC video shoot, the CR promo pic shoot, the JTTW video shoot, etc. I wanna see 'em all!
The partygoers also each got an autographed VIP Party Pass that looks cool too. Lucky ducks!

Lance Smith from CMT is the guest host turns out. Carrie is opening up with Ever Ever After. Apparently she messed up saying "It's been awhile" Now singing Wheel of the World. Now singing Sometimes You Leave! :o These are all acoustic i believe although I see her drummer in some of pics. They are sitting on stools fwiw. Carrie is now singing Voices Carry. Now singing Stand By Your Man! How Great Thou Art is next. Now singing ALONE. Performing Sweet Child Of Mine now. BHC Now performing HOME SWEET HOME!! Per Lance Smith's tweet, almost a thousand fans at the FC party! Q & A session time. ETA: Have to leave, others will update I'm sure as it progresses!

Vinman.. thanks so much for the update.
The fanclub thread is going too fast to keep up so it's nice to have a summary place to go to.
Please keep it up if you can... You're great!!!

Her songs are more popish than most. I know she doesn't need to, but you never know what can come out of a short European tour. If she can tag along with someone like Dolly, Shania, or even Alan Jackson, it might just be surprising. jmo

I don't expect her to ever match Shania's numbers overseas as Shania remixed her albums to pop for European release... but I would be happy if Carrie had some modest success... and slowly built a reputation overseas. Australia is a no brainer, I think. She is already charting well there and seems to be well known there.

Carrie 'complained' that the fans picked difficult songs for her to sing. shes too cute. It was an acoustic set. she stood up during HGTA and mentioned she had to stand up to sing that. she and lance smith have good chemistry. Lance mentioned that his wife's name is Carrie too. i've got audio but it will take me a while. i'm leaving after the softball game but will be travelling to Asia right after. i think you all will prob get audio from somewhere else by then. but if you don't get it by then, i have all the songs i think Carrie wont be performing at LP field. she mentioned that she didnt know she didn't have to perform every year. so i guess since she has no new single or album to promote she decided to use this year to take a break and celebrate her moms bday just some to tide you all over for now i28.photobucket.com/albums/c222/jeff48109/IMG_6431.jpgi28.photobucket.com/albums/c222/jeff48109/IMG_6445.jpgi28.photobucket.com/albums/c222/jeff48109/IMG_6474.jpgi28.photobucket.com/albums/c222/jeff48109/IMG_6483.jpgshe was showing off her wound (from her fall). i think Lance was looking at her legs more (so was I)

she had the words in front of her but she forgot some and sang at the wrong time for some. she blamed her bass player for that.
