What happened to "Tequila on Ice"? I thought that would be a nice summer tune.....it sounds like a typical #1 Kenny Chesney hit. I like "Sounds Like Life to Me", it's a pretty good song.
"Messed Up In Memphis" is a great song, which reminds me of classic 70's music. Much different than anything on the radio right now. "You Never Know" will likely be a single...it seems like a radio friendly song with well written lyrics.
Talking about different, "Don't Show Up (If You Can't Get Down)".....wow what is there to say about a song like that? You gotta take a listen if you haven't heard it.

Just wanted to thank Kevin for posting this. I imagine it's going to sell about 73 copies, but I liked most of the songs. I agree with Joey, Messed Up in Memphis is a terrific song and it might succeed on the radio if given a chance. Honkytonk Life and Slow Dancing With A Memory are also well-written. I couldn't get all the way through You Never Know because I am quick to dismiss what I see as gratuitous death songs, but that's a matter of taste. Still, good album.
If he gets his current single to the top 20, I imagine he'll get one more song promoted to radio. This guy has a strong voice and his arrangements are usually good.

I actually heard Shenandoah sing You Never Know last July. Two of the guys in the band, including lead singer Jimmy Yeary, wrote it about the death of their former bassist.

Don't Show Up is great. Of course not single worthy but a very fun song. As I stated in another thread, Slow Dancing With a Memory will be a hit. It is a carry over form his last album so I would assume they thought enough of it to bring it over that they will release it. I have always liked Darryl, especially his first album. I haven't made it all the way through the newest one as my mp3 player was on shuffle, but this sounds like a pretty tight album.
