they need to make up and get in the studio and come up with some FIRE for her new album, i hope she's working with him i like her working with Timbaland but she really should get back with Darkchild and he does not need to give her material similar to "Human" i <3 that album but the material was way too Adult Pop for her. Yet, Human made perfect sense because it had a very defined focus and sound from start to finish. Her interview with Vibe talked about why she felt the need to make that album, and from the adult-pop that Darkchild and Brandy turned out, it sounds like they were completely on the same page. I don't know why Brandy is saying that Rodney wasn't giving his all, because that album was flawless. I think her mistake was delivering a pop album through a major label (epic) when they were going to struggle getting an audience to accept this new, adult sound from her. (she could have done the album indie as a side project or something, but no, she wanted a major on board, and the album flopped) That being said, I really hope that they do work together again, and find the right direction for her. (I still thought Human was her most cohesive album...) "Human" is a really good album, she just needs radio hits, if u don't have that strong loyal following of fans, then u need some hits, of course she has some loyal fans but i don't know if it's enough to carry her as far as album sales are concerned. Just look at her last album, there were some really good songs on that cd.

With R&B star Brandy currently enjoying renewed popularity via her hit VH1 show ‘A Family Business’, the singer will no doubt be looking to capitalise on it with the impending release of her new album. Indeed, it appears the mother of one is pulling all the stops with the as-yet-untitled LP, after confirming that she is currently in the studio working with hitmaker Danja.
Renown for his work with Britney Spears (‘Gimme More’), Mariah Carey (‘Migrate’), and Nelly Furtado (‘Maneater’), Danja joins an already impressive list of producers who have been tapped to work on the project – inclusive being Timbaland. A friend told me she was in talks with them, but didn't know she signed. Hope she doesn't go the way of Amerie.

That would be terrible. Theyre hardly doing well by anyone. Maybe Rihanna right now but people are even complaining about how they handled her last album with two flop singles.

Rumor... Brandy signs a record deal with Island Def Jam. I hope not. Mariah and Rihanna are suffering enough from the monkeys there.

I wish her well, atleast Mariah and Rihanna struck gold & platinum with there albums, and for now in these times that is a success, not to mention that both of them have top10 hot100 singles, and Rihanna a hot100 #1. There albums could've and should've done better, and IDJ, is sorta the blame for it. But nonetheless, i wish Brandy well, and want to see her next project become a success.

i hope IDJ promotes her correctly but the 2011 release date is too late i think it would a good idea if they attempted a late fall/early winter release

1Q 2011 at the latest. And I need some STRONG R&B records on this project. No more of that "blurring the edges" R&B/Pop hybrid material.

If Monica could come back there is no reason Brandy cant. Shes not an old lady. She needs to put out a real R&B album. An old school sound would probably work for her. Do some Gladys Knight type songs.

I doubt her and Rodney will be working together on this next album so we'll see what she can come up with.

She was pissed with him once before because she felt that he gave away "her" sound and now she's pissed because she feels he didn't give her his best work on Human. Since he's EP'ing Ray J's album, hopefully he and Brandy can reconcile for at least a track or 2.

Monica put out old school R&B songs and had hits. Yup but they're very appealing and great songs also. Monica has that traditionally soulful-sounding voice that works well with those kinds of songs. Brandy's tone is incredible and unmatched but not that kind of soulful; I can't hear her belting out an Everything to Me.

I think she could do better if she put out an album with the right balance of pop and rnb. I did think Human was a bit too much on the pop side, so if she just toned down the pop aspect of the music this time maybe she could do better.

Since it flopped she is mad he didnt "give her his best." SMH she is a mess for that. Yup but they're very appealing and great songs also. Listening to how she totally kills "at last" I think she could totlaly pull off "everything to me" (and do it better). THats the type of song she needs to be doing and not that pop shit she tried with the last album. Shehas aaar too much soul and pain in her voice to do that bubble gum.

THats the type of song she needs to be doing and not that pop s**t she tried with the last album. Shehas aaar too much soul and pain in her voice to do that bubble gum.[/quote] I think even if Human had been a success, she would've harbored the same resentment once it was found out that there were certain tracks he had done that he didn't play for her because he was saving them for "higher profile" artists. Plus, Rodney was salty himself because Brandy didn't run to him first when she started working on the album and because he wasn't the main producer of the project nor the E.P. of it. It's definitely a 2-way battle IMO. And I did hear her cover of At Last and I thought it was a very soulful rendition but was very Bluesy. It had a very raw sound to it that was surprisingly great. I don't think Monica could pull off At Last nearly as well as Brandy did the same way I don't think Brandy could pull off Silly the way Monica did.

Did you guys see the episode yesterday where she was cutting a track with Danja? It sounds like fire!!! She definitely needs to stick with Danja for this project. Polow could do her some good as well. Darkchild for the pop tracks and Tim can give her some rap tracks. Any idea when the album is supposed to come out?

I still enjoyed Human, but I think that she does need to move back to a contemporary R&B sound to find success again. I'm not sure if old school flavored soul for singles would be wise since Monica just did it, but they would make nice album tracks kind of like Mariah did with Emancipation.
