How long has this been sputtering around the #9 slot on Pop?? It feels like at least 3 weeks now...

The last few weeks of this song's chart run have just been flat out painful. I wish it would either completely collapse or blow up. This inbetween stage is doing nothing for the song's run and it's certainly not helping the album sales. I was hesitant to say it, but... Bring on AG!

really disappointing for her. actually i think this era will be much of the same. a lot of singles that people expect to be huge and they seem like they will but then just a lot of smoke and no fire.

Ok, great. people thought this "could" be a HUGE hit too and sorry this is not good for her standards. Its not a flop by any means but second singles should really be hitting Top 5 for an artist like her and its not whether I think they could be huge or not. I think a lot of the material on the album is flat and to be honest boring but thats not the point. I think all the songs you listed are good but I dont think any of them will be huge hitting the heights like she did with Breakaway era.

AG will be HUGE, LS would be the next WA, Cry, would be bigger than BOY and could maybe get played on country radio, DLMSTY could be as big as BTHE. IICHY coiuld be a big hit for Kelly, but I'm not sure. These singles I've listed can and most likely will (if released) be as big if not bigger than those on Breakaway.

I still don't get all the love for IICHY. I don't think it would go anywhere on radio. Cry has way too high of a burn rate, I feel sure of it. LS is a mistake, it's another Perry track. The two obvious choices, to me, are AG and DLMSY. If they want a 5th single then take a gamble with any of the others.

I also felt LS should be released and not Hook Up. I agree I really don't see IICHY as a single, but Cry would be a HUGE hit on radio. That I am sure of.

It may not be dead yet! Keep requesting it if you want it to keep climbing. The thing is that we DON'T want it to climb any higher. I'm more than ready for Already Gone and I'm sure everybody else is too.

Fair enough. thats your opinion and i respect it. Mine is that this album is now at a point where it cannot reach the heights of Breakaway because impact wise it doesnt feel like it can be to me. First and second singles are usually "freebies" for huge hits so it will be interesting to see if she can perhaps get huge singles without those "freebies" being huge.

Why is Kelly releasing the HALO ripoff? So lame. Especially since HOOK UP did not hook any listeners. It needs to be DLMSY. Nothing else.

DLMSY isn't grabbing enough to revive the era.
AG is.

I never understood why people love DLMSY so much. Like, I listen and listen and don't hear this guaranteed #1 hit that everyone else does. I wonder what they will do after AG-have they said? It may depend on if it is a huge hit or not.

It may depend on if it is a huge hit or not. If AG is a big success, I think they have to go with a re-release in the fall. Brand new single (preferably Dr. Luke) single in late September, followed by the re-release album at Thanksgiving.

I don't think I have read where many people, if any, have said that DLMSY will be a #1 smash. I just think it has the most potential to click with both her old and newer fanbases and it absolutely is radio friendly. It is very similar to BTHE which was a smash on radio so it would be silly to suggest radio wouldn't like this song. I think it makes a perfect choice for 4th single for all of these reasons.

Look on this page :) And, this entire era people have been saying it would be her Breakaway sized hit. At this point, I don't think they should be trying for the Breakaway sound. I feel like that is what they did with IDNHU-like, a SUBG type song. But it didn't work. So I feel like if they released a BTHE same type song it would backfire in the same way. I would like for her to release her NON typical Breakaway sounding songs for that reason. But, who knows-we don't know what people will react to. I thought INDHU would be a masssssssive hit and push the album past platinum and keep it top 20.

MLWSWY was the SUBG sound if anything. I'm not saying IDNHU was a complete 180 but of the two MLWSWY had the most in common with SUBG and it was the most successful. When the single came out everyone compared it to SUBG, you can find a million articles online about it. It wasn't considered a bad thing, just that she was getting back to the hit sound she was known for. Just pointing that out...
