I'm with the "end of era" crowd. If "Funhouse" didn't do well, I don't think anything from this album will do well. "Funhouse" completely killed any momentum she had going. I thought it was a good single choice and I thought that she could do no wrong as far as radio is concerned. I guess I was wrong. Was this just too different for pop radio? I'm sorry, but what "killed momentum" is the fact that this era is a year old and 4 singles deep. Momentum dies down by itself people. So can anyone tell me the last 4th single by Pink to go to #22 on pop and top 40 on iTunes. AKA the LAST 4th single Pink had in the US... during her most successful era ever...

Oh, I didn't think this would die so soon. o__O; I think all the hype has moved on to other artists having new material on radio right now imo. That said just cause this flopped it doesn't mean she couldn't risk putting out something else.. look what Katy's WUIV did after TOY failed to be much of a success. And IMO, BI or IAYF are really strong especially compared to funhouse. she should try either of those.

Actually I really wouldn't mind if they end this era now. I think it'd a perfect time to release a GH next like early next year and start working on a new album.

^ TOY also did better than this is doing in terms of peak spins/chart placement.

I new album will take some time. She will be touring right through to late 2010/early 2011. She said she does write on the road but that recent interview mentions that she will take her time and write an album that is probably more accoustic/soul. She said it will be her selfish album. And after five albums, tones of world wide success and huge tours... WHY NOT! I do want this era to go on through the hollidays in the US. Without no promo that won't happen. And if she does tour again next year it will be too late. Ah well. We can't complain. Her first #1 single and two other top twenties, three top ten singles on POP, a sold out US leg and an album that will hit 1.5Mill, I am very happy.

^holiday season is so close. even if they rush IAYF out, is it really going to get people to go out and buy the album for the holidays? i dont know. it seems late now, but i wouldnt be against it. i just dont think they are going to do that.

i'm really surprised this hasn't fared better with pop radio, she's been such a staple and the downloads have been very consistent. she should have performed this on VMA's instead of sober. i can understand why she did it, as it is easily one of the most impressive parts of the tour, but it would've given funhouse a nice push.

Put out 'It's All Your Fault' for the end of November, let it do whatever and then end the era on that note and put out a GHs next fall with 2-3 new tracks. Smash idea!!!

I don't know how well radio will take IAYF. I like the song a lot, but can a fifth single about suicide do well on pop radio? If a first, highly anticipated, single about death is struggling, how will IAYF fare?

If a first, highly anticipated, single about death is struggling, how will IAYF fare? It isn't necessarily about suicide though, only if you choose to interpret that way. It could also be about killing something off.

^ TOY also did better than this is doing in terms of peak spins/chart placement. So it should have, coming off two huge singles/a number 1 hit. But this isn't. PDLM already slowed her momentum down somewhat, and FH pretty much extinguished this era for her lol. They should have chose something else; BI for example did much better in aus/nz than FH overall but her management seem pretty set on their releases, and it's almost frustrating they dared to put this out anyways. lol

IAYF is not about suicide . i dont think any casual listener would interpret it that way at all. its just a metaphor, a hyperbole.

can a fifth single about suicide do well on pop radio? Oops, meant to reply to this question. Have you even listened to the song? It is soo not about suicide. It's about the end of a relationship being "all your fault."

^Yeah, that's what it's about. I've listened to that song more times than anyone should, and that's never crossed my mind as being about suicide.

On another note, I can't believe some people are still arguing that Funhouse did well, with the evidence of it's under performance staring them right in the face. Apparently they don't know her pedigree.

This era seems over to me, she doesn't really have any momentum left. I doubt anything she'd release would hit top 20 at this point. There's just too much competition and everyone is over this era, both radio and the general public.

I'm surprised she didn't release BI--that's' my second favorite song on the album (after IDBY, my favorite Pink song of all time). I thought that would be a hit, and it's been enough time since SW so that shouldn't have been a factor.

Yeah I remember not really liking Pink during the Misusndaztood era except for when my friend introduced me to 18 Wheeler. And on the last album Leave Me Alone I'm Lonely is my fav! And I'm really glad Funhouse was a single anyway, even though GREAT album tracks usually look better than underperforming singles, lol.

Really think she should end the era on a highnote. She had four solid singles released, really amazing album sales, and a few high profile performances. I've listened to the entire cd, and nothing else would perform well enough to generate album sales/single sales.
This way, she can go on a six month hiatus, take a break and work on the next album, and release a new single at the start of summer 2010.

And from the sounds of it, I doubt the new album will be that radio friendly.

Really think she should end the era on a highnote. I do too, hence why IAYF needs to be released. Ending now with Funhouse's under performance, would certainly not be on a high note.
