Seriously!!! I have been screaming to people at my office to listen to "Revolver" and yes! I succeeded! "Revolver" was used as the official theme song for a Fashion show organized in my account! I made sure "Celebration" remix was used also!!

according to madonntribe, and good indication of a single release for Revolver:
First of all there's Revolver, the second new track on her greatest hits album that, as previously reported by MadonnaTribe a while back, will be the second single release off the compilation. The news is that lots of remixers have been contacted to remix the song and among them we find Tracy Young, David Guetta and Paul Van Dyke.

would be cool if David Guetta does a dancey version of the song, at these her core radio format, the 6 or 7 dance stations will spin it and if pop finally embraces a second single from madonna, then things will look good!

The reason she doesn't get spins honestly is because of her age. Sadly, it's hard for female artists to get play once they hit 40.

^ That;s only in sad, masochistic US. She gets enough plays in the neighbouring country Canada.

So will it show on Mediabase?

I can't wait for this to be released. I wonder what are they waiting for. It was announced at MadonnaTribe that remixes are being worked on. David Guetta already played a little bit of his mix a few days ago.

10/14/09 Revolver"To Date" Quick Cut numbers264 spins (+18 from the day before) 1,407,000 impressions (+37,000) according to madonntribe, and good indication of a single release for Revolver: First of all there's Revolver, the second new track on her greatest hits album that, as previously reported by MadonnaTribe a while back, will be the second single release off the compilation. The news is that lots of remixers have been contacted to remix the song and among them we find Tracy Young, David Guetta and Paul Van Dyke. Well, mixes for Miles Away were commissioned for the international release, but WB decided against a proper release in the States. Hope that's not the case with Revolver. 1.3 million impressions? So will it show on Mediabase? That's the to-date total - if you generate Revolver's current weekly total by subtracting the 10/7 Quick Cut total from today's Quick Cut total, it's just under 0.3 million. I read this on Absmad, that David Guetta and Akon are working on a remix of Celebration. Thats what Madonnatribe claims. Interesting - I've thought that a Celebration remix more suited to today's radio climate certainly could have found more success in the U.S. (the song itself is not terrible and even has some rhythmic elements in the verses that could appeal to pop listeners), but it's a little too little and a little too late. The question is - what is WB's next course of action (if any) - send Celebration feat. Akon or Revolver feat. Lil Wayne to radio, or do nothing and let the project completely die?

Yeah, the blog that posted about it (auspOp) mentioned that. ;) This is the official cover for 'Revolver' though. It only was sent for adds this Monday so we'll find out next week whether it was one of the top 10 most added tracks for the week. :)

even if revolver isn't released stateside, wb would be nuts to not release it in europe and canada (where it will be yet another smash). i would be quite content to get my hands on the import maxi with all the remixes. and a video on top of that would be bliss.

The thing is, ageism does kindof apply for men as well. You don't see any men 40+ getting spins on radio. NONE!
It is like radio today is scared to show DIVERSITY. Look back at how experimental songs were in the 80's. The ones at the top of the charts. Look at all the genres taht OWNED in the 90's, all atop the charts. POP embraced them ALL. NOW? It adds far fewer songs and dictates what pop SOUNDS LIKE. It is SO LAME. Great music comes in all shades, colours, shapes... WTF at mainstream POP ignoring it all. When with the US move away from radio being such a big part of the charts?

That will be great. Why does the US seem to hold onto radio in such a way? It baffles me.

Because it always has been an easy way of listening to songs for them. Lazy bones found a more easier way now. Downloads
