but all those above artists...Gaga, Kanye, Beyonce, etc.......if they release a song or leak a song in this situation and don't tell anybody about it, only the fanbase would know about it. That's the point i think pdc1987 is trying to make. And it's silly to think Madonna's entire global worldwide fanbase HAS to download the song the minute it's leaked, or else it's considered a flop. People have lives you know. If i had worked all yesterday and today, i probably wouldn't have known about it till now. What on earth? When did I ever say that just because it hasn't rocketed up iTunes the whole song is a flop now? All I ever said was that the fact that it's not having an immediate impact on itunes shows her popularity has waned. Nothing more nothing less. And plenty of big artists have released new song right of the blue, and they still fly up iTunes. Miley Cyrus does it all the freaking time. ok ok, don't have a cow. I worded it poorly then. but releasing a song is vastly different than leaking a song and not telling anybody it's available for download. Celebration is not released yet. So few people know about it. I had to call all my Madonna friends and play it for them over speakerphone yesterday, lol. Of course they all loved it! The word will spread. I'm doing my part.

and again, it doesn't help that the youtube vids are taken down, either. At least there was one Obsessed vid that was left up and it exploded with millions of views. I'm sure that helped tremendously with sales.

All I ever said was that the fact that it's not having an immediate impact on itunes shows her popularity has waned among the iTunes avid buyer audience. Nothing more nothing less. And plenty of big artists have released new song right of the blue, and they still fly up iTunes. Miley Cyrus does it all the freaking time. Fixed. I don't know how can you say her popularity has waned when she still sells tour like that... And I don't even like her.

Her popularity has waned some, but big deal! Happens to all artist eventually. Relevance and popularity are completely different anyway. Her fanbase isn't tweens who smell every fart 2 seconds before she lets it. Let's see where Miley is 25 years in to her career.

Her fanbase isn't tweens who smell every fart 2 seconds before she lets it. Let's see where Miley is 25 years in to her career. exactly! Mariah's popularity is waning yet she still remains a relevant artist. And probably will for some time. It does happen to everyone. for Madonna, it started with the American Life fiasco. Before that, she was golden. She brought it back up with Hung Up, and even a little further with 4 Minutes. imo, Celebration is the exact perfect thing for her to release right now. It's what everybody wants from her. A kickass dance song! It's what she does best. We'll see how it plays out. I wanna know how it's doing around the world too.

Her iTunes sales are incredible on a worldwide scale.
And there is no doubt in my mind that Madonna can "comeback" even better than she did with '4 Minutes' and get another #1 in the US (whether that be on the Hot 100, Top 40, or both). Do I think this one will do it? No way, but I think there's definitely hope for future projects. There's obviously something special about the woman that her career has remained as strong as it still is after almost three decades.
If Whitney can "comeback", Madonna sure can.

Celebration will come close. On a worldwide scale, it will slaughter 4 Minutes' success, and it spent what...12 weeks on top? I forget. this WILL BE one of the biggest songs globally of 2009. ;)

He means the live feed, which updates more than the actual list on iTunes. My iTunes says #98.

i just hope the reason maybe fans are waiting for mOnday.. No matter who the act is there are only so many loons that are gonna rush and by a new song right after it leaks. Songs aren't usually released this early. The general public still doesn't have the slightest clue about this song.
